Michael Morbius, a profoundly successful biochemist, learned that he was dying of a blood disease. In desperation, he turned to using vampire bats in search of a cure. However, he instead transformed into a pseudo-vampire, gaining a number of supernatural abilities along with a thirst for blood. The living vampire's first victim was his best friend and research partner. Upon regaining his sanity and realizing what he had done, Morbius fled into the night, abandoning his fiancée out of fear. Now, after years cleansing himself of villainous tendencies, Morbius stalks the night as an antihero, draining the life of villains while solving numerous occult events.[1][2]
