History

Michael Sadler was the first-born child of Louis Sadler, the Canadian hero known as Major Mapleleaf. The birth of his son was one of the reasons for Sadler to go public with his identity.

As a child, Michael soon had a younger brother, Edmond, and the two often played together. Their father turned out to be rough and abusive.

When he grew up, Michael came out as gay. However, Michael contracted HIV and eventually died of AIDS. The death of his son sent Sadler into a deep depression. In a drunken rage, he attacked Toronto General Hospital when a cause celebre case of a baby with AIDS, Joanne, captured the media's attention. Sadler battled with Northstar, who later came out as gay himself as a result of their confrontation.
