Michel de Nostredame, a.k.a. Nostradamus, is a French astrologer, physician, and reputed seer from the 16th century, who is best known for Les Prophéties, a collection of quatrains predicting the future.[3]
In order to exploit him for his prophecies, he was captured by Sir Isaac Newton, leader of the Brotherhood of the Shield, and was locked up in a secret chamber in the Immortal City for 300 years until he was freed by Newton's son, Leonid. Newton had kept Nostradamus alive with the Forever Compound, an inferior version of the Elixir of Life.[6]
History
Early Life[]
Nostradamus was born in 1503, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Provence, France. Not much is known of his early life but he later studied at the University of Avignon from the age of 15, but was forced to leave after just over a year when the university closed due to an outbreak of the plague. He worked as an apothecary for several years and married his first wife and had two children who sadly died from the plague. He later married a rich widow with whom he had six children. He wrote an almanac and, as a result of its success, continued writing them for future years as he began working as an astrologer for various wealthy patrons.[3]
Brotherhood of the Shield[]
Being tortured by Newton
In 1645, he was approached by the omnitemporal Michelangelo and was told that he was not just a prophet or seer but the Catalyst and the Architect of Revelation. Michelangelo warned that he will soon be tortured by Isaac Newton but he must endure until the arrival of "a boy with stars beneath his skin": Leonid. In 1652, as foretold, he was kidnapped and imprisoned underneath the Immortal City by Newton of the Brotherhood of the Shield. He was injected with the Forever Compound, a diluted version of the Elixir of Life that continued to extended his life but caused his mind to decay, with the real Elixir in front of him in order to pressure him to give Newton the specific prophecy he needed.[2]
Predictions[]
Prophecies throughout the centuries
- One of predictions mentioned the word Samarobryn, which was revealed to be a future predicting satelite built in the 21st century.[1]
- In the vision he saw the three members of the Last Caliphate resting in the capsules.[2]
- He saw Columbus' discovery of America.[2]
- He helped predict the American Revolutionary War.[2]
- He witnessed the battle at the Alamo.[2]
- He foresaw Captain James Cook's voyage and discovery of the Savage Land.[2]
- He also predicted World War II.[2]
19th century[]
In 1806, three men broke into the Immortal City in hopes of finding Nostradamus. They succeeded but, before the could free him and ask him questions, the Brotherhood of the Shield intervened and killed two of the men. While one escaped, he was mortally wounded but was able to deliver a message to Michelangelo stating "he perserves."[7]

After being freed by Leonid
Newton continued to torture Nostradamus well into the 1950's. In 1953, Nostradamus' soon-to-be savior and Newton's half-Deviant son, Leonid, was brought to the Immortal City. Three years later, Newton once again offered Nostradamus the Elixir for his prophecy and Nostradamus finally agreed. He warned of war, the soon of eternity returning, the child of the stars being born, the philosophical conflict between fate and free will, and that change was already here. Just moments earlier, Leonid had found a time-travelling Leonardo da Vinci, who brought with him the Human Machine, challenged Newton's reign, warned Leonid about his father, and told him the location of Nostradamus' prison. After over 300 years, Nostradamus was free at last.[8]
Leonardo da Vinci retrieved the Star Child from the Sun and his presence incited a schism in the Brotherhood of the Shield between fate and free will over the next four years. Newton believed that everything is preordained and that the world will end in 2060. Leonardo believed that men are masters of their own destiny and the hope for eternity. Nostradamus observed the rising conflict along with Leonid and the Star Child.[9]
Across three versions of 2060
Eventually, all-out war broke out which ended with the sudden return of Nathaniel Richards, Howard Stark, and Leonid's adoptive dad, Tesla. Having been to the future, they rejected Newton's truth. After a trial, Newton escaped to 2060 AD to witness the world's end. After learning that Newton had ran out of Elixir, Nostradamus and the Star Child scavenged through Newton's belongings to look for more, but the Star Child found Newton's Quiet Math and went insane. He destroyed much of the Immortal City and also went to the future. The Brotherhood used the Human Machine to follow them and battled Newton across three different versions of 2060 simultaneously. During this battle, Nostradamus spoke one more prophecy before being killed by Newton in two timelines and joining him in the third. In the end, the perfected Human Machine allowed Leonid to resolve the conflict with Newton and bring everyone back. They returned to modern-day Italy.[10]
Modern Age[]
Nostradamus prophecies about the weather was later programmed into the Samarobryn a weather monitoring space station in Earth's orbit.[1]Attributes
Powers
An example of a prophecy
- Advanced Longevity: Through the administration of the Forever Compound by Sir Isaac Newton, Nostradamus' aging has been slowed if not completely halted, allowing him to live for more than three centuries.[2]
- Precognition: Nostradamus is able to make prophecies about the future.[2]
Notes
- There are some inconsistencies in Nostradamus' timeline:
- Both Isaac Newton and Nostradamus say that he was imprisoned for 500 years, but he was captured in 1652 and was freed in 1956.[6]
- Nostradamus' profile says he was born in 1503 like in real life,[3] but this means he would have been 149 years old when he was captured.
Trivia
- Nostradamus appears to have been friends with Leonid and the Star Child before the latter went mad.[11][12]
- Nostradamus in real-life was known for his cryptic predictions.
- Nostradamus is the Path of the Human Machine, alongside Nathaniel Richards.[13]
