Synopsis for "Life-Cycles"
Inside of the alien asteroid the Endeavor II has landed on[1], the Micronauts decide they must flee back to the ship due to rising radiation levels. The chamber suddenly becomes filled with energy beams and the radiation is preventing their transmissions to the Roboids on the Endeavor II. Mari suggests that Arcturus Rann use his mindlink communication with Biotron II, which he hasn’t attempted since the second version of the roboid came into existence. He tries it and he is able to make a tenuous contact with the ship.
Huntarr suddenly becomes bound by tendrils and covered in a yellow goop which prevents him from changing form. The Micronauts seek to return to the Endeavor to use its resources to help free him. The alien's thoughts reveal his discovery of Huntarr's mutation and an attempt to fix the genetic mess the Body Banks made to him. Back on the ship, Arcturus seeks to establish a mindlink with the alien and insists that they mean it no harm and that it must return Huntarr to them.
The radiation levels continue their dramatic rise and Arcturus orders them to lift off in order to save the Micronauts and the ship but Acroyear insists they remain behind and not abandon Huntarr no matter what the cost. Meanwhile, the alien asteroid begins to make a dramatic change to its form, ultimately culminating in a transformation into a spaceship with hyperdrive capabilities. They suddenly encounter a large orange-skinned humanoid creature outside the ship. They are alarmed and seek to blast it until it spells the letter "H" which they interpret to signify that it is a transformed Huntarr. They let him on the ship and he informs them that he has taken one of the eggs and that the alien is about to embark on a seeding flight to spread its progeny throughout the universe.
After the alien finishes its transformation, it begins to initiate its hyperdrive for space flight and reestablishes its mindlink with Arcturus, telling him of its joy in having them aboard on its quest to "meet the Makers". They’re alarmed by this as they interpret this to be a suicide mission, but worry there isn’t enough power to break free. They eventually determine that the eggs should surely have power that they might be able to siphon off and Huntarr is able to establish a connection with them using his newly identified powers.
After they break free, Biotron is having a conversation with Microtron II and reveals that the Micronauts' exposure to the radiation has caused irreparable harm to them and that they are dying.
