Miles Alden was a puritan man living in Salem, Massachusetts in the late seventeenth century. His charge, Charity Brown, found herself entranced by dreams of Count Dracula, who was seeking a pure, innocent bride to add to his harem, and she willingly accepted him.
Goodman Alden saw Charity dancing sensually in the forest, and he attempted to assault her. She fought him off and escaped, and in revenge, he accused her of witchcraft. Because Dracula had placed his mark upon her, she was found guilty and sentenced to death. Dracula arrived in America to claim her, but came too late to prevent her hanging. In revenge, he killed Alden and cursed the town.
