Synopsis for "How Millie became a Model"

At the agency Millie daydreams about how she became a model and recounts the story to Clicker.

Millie lived in Sleepy Gap, Kansas and dreamed of being a model but her family disapproved, wanting her to be a farm girl. Her father thought sending her on a trip to New York would disabuse her of the notion once she saw how terrible things are. On the train Millie demonstrateed her strength and independence in batting away a guard.
Arriving in New York, Millie found no difficulty in finding help, with men rushing to her aid. After she caused an incident when she asked a man for help and his wife hit him, a photographer called Clicker Holbrook came up and whisked her off to his agency. At the agency model Chili was threatening to quit unless she got a rise, but Howard needed her for a contract with Mr. Goldrocks. Clicker brought Millie into the office but Howard ignored him until Millie stood up to him. At that moment Mr. Goldrocks entered and immediately took to Mille, giving all his business to the agency. Pleased, Howad appointed Millie, promoted Clicker to ace photographer and sent Chili, her threat neutered, to the horror department. Chili started sticking pins in a doll.

Years later Millie comments how things have changed, but Clicker isn't so sure. Chili continues sticking pins in...
