History

Miranda Mantega was a mother of Sofia Mantega (Wind Dancer). She never told Walter Barrett — Sofia's father — about their daughter and raised her single handedly. She was a loving mother and cared deeply about her daughter, even when Sofia developed mutant powers.

One day Miranda went to Caracas to buy a present for her daughter. There was a riot in town and Miranda became its unfortunate victim; she died in a stampede.
