History
The Mitans are a race of humanoids that live on the micro-world of Mita which was accessible through the process of shrinking beyond atomic size through a rock that was originally located on Bird Nests' Island, Maine. Its people were ruled by a king and queen and were terrorized by one of their own, a tyrant known as Togaro. The king and queen sent their daughter to Earth where she was adopted by an Earth couple and named Dianna. Togaro eventually learned of her location and went after her. The people of Mita sent Ailma and Alt to rescue her, bringing back with them to their world Captain America and Bucky with them back to Mita to save their world.[1]
Soon the world of Mita was sent hurtling into its worlds sun by Togaro. In order to try and save her people, Dianna had a large batch of the shrinking drug given to her people to shrink them down in size so that they could all fit within the size changing ship used to escape the planet. Unfortunately, the ship crashed killing all the Mitan refugees. Eventually on the surface world, Togaro was slain by Captain America.[2]
By the spring 1943, the only surviving Mitans were Dianna, Ailma and a number of Togaro's minions who were most likely taken into police custody after the death of their leader. Their subsequent fate remains unrevealed, although they likely integrated into Earth society.
