History

The Moebius Stone was a mystical artifact forged by Agamotto, imbued with limited control over time. It possessed the power to resurrect the dead, absorb the life-force of others, and either accelerate or reverse the flow of time within a localized area. However, its use occasionally triggered unpredictable time-related side effects.[1]

Thousands of years ago, Malachi, a powerful sorceress, and her lover Korahn discovered Agamotto’s Moebius Stone in their search for immortality. The duo clashed with Agamotto's guardian and their battle shattered the Stone, scattering its fragments across the world. Though Korahn perished, Malachi was kept alive by a fragment of the stone and began her hunt to recover the rest.

Malachi tracked one of the Moebius Stone’s fragments to a sword hilt on display at the Chicago Museum of Art. After a brief clash with Dr. Druid and his Secret Defenders, she escaped and regained her strength by draining the life force of a teenage boy. This led her to another fragment hidden in a nearby graveyard. Confronted once more by the Secret Defenders, she nevertheless succeeded in reclaiming the final piece and reassembling the Moebius Stone. With its full power, she unleashed a global wave of accelerated aging and vitality loss. She then resurrected Korahn, only for him to reject her, declaring he would rather remain dead than live forever. While she was distracted by his rejection, Deadpool fatally stabbed her and took the Stone.[2]

Though Malachi was defeated, the Moebius Stone drew the attention of a mysterious being known only as Strange, a mystical pseudo-clone of Doctor Strange. Seeking to collect powerful magical artifacts for his creator, Strange attempted to seize the Moebius Stone. When Cadaver stood in his way, Strange also tried to take the Sword of Bone, but the weapon resisted him. Ultimately, Dr. Druid destroyed the Moebius Stone making Strange lost interest in the fight and depart.[1]
