History
In Moira Kinross's third life she threw herself into the research of anthropology and genetics in order to better understand her mutation. She met Charles Xavier at Oxford, but found him arrogant and selfish, dissuading her from approaching him.
Her unhappy second life, and dislike of Xavier, caused Moira to consider mutations a disease, and work on developing a Mutant Cure. She identified the X-Gene at the age of 36, and won the Nobel Prize at 38. Before she and her team could unveil her discovery of the cure at the age of 42, her facility was attacked and destroyed by the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants who came there to stop her.
Destiny, leader of the Brotherhood, interrogated Moira. She warned her that if she ever moved against mutantkind in any of her future lives, Destiny would see it coming and stop her, just as she would if Moira tried to kill her. She told Moira her only path forward was to embrace mutantkind and use her talents for her species' betterment. She also told her she would live at most 10 or 11 lives, depending on her choices. To ensure Moira remembered what she had told her, she ordered Pyro to slowly burn her to death.[1]Residents
