History
In the life of Moira IV.8., Orchis succeeded in their plans to destroy mutantkind. Within ten years, most of mutantkind had been exterminated and the machines had usurped Orchis entirely. Using technology from Omega Sentinel's future, they spent five years converting Mars into a Worldmind, hoping to use it to attract a Dominion that could make them part of its machine consciousness.[1]
Desperate to undo this timeline, a team of X-Men launched a last-ditch assault on the Henry Gyrich Memorial Detention Center, managing to secure access to Feilong's personality imprint, granting them knowledge of where Mr. Sinister was held. Believing that the key to undoing this timeline lay with Sinister and his Moira Engine, the X-Men traveled to Phobos to find him.[1]
While Nimrod and Omega Sentinel left to deal with the X-Men, Doctor Stasis put his own plan into motion. Having feigned allegiance to the machines, Stasis had secretly allied himself with the Children of the Vault and created a plot to usurp the Dominion. Stasis sacrificed the Sun to erase the Dominion's constituent intelligences, reducing it to pure processing power. After betraying the Children, Stasis attempted to copy himself onto the now empty Dominion, allowing him to ascend to dominionhood. However, he was shocked to discover that the Dominion was being consumed by another; Enigma.[1]
As these events unfolded, the X-Men managed to make their way to Sinister. Wolverine killed Sinister, knowing that doing so would trigger a fail-safe in his Moira Engine and reset the timeline.[1]See Also
