Synopsis for "A Madness of Dreams!"

At Seaview Research Hospital, a nurse is administering medication to Morpheus when she realizes that he has been receiving the wrong medicine to keep him under control. The realization comes too late, however, as Morpheus's latent powers reawaken and he quickly seizes control of the hospital along with four psych ward patients to use as his empowered deputies.

Marc Spector is finishing a back ride at Moon Knight's Mansion when he receives a distressing call from Marlene Alraune who is at the hospital under Morpheus's control and despite her reservations about Moon Knight, beseeches him to make an appearance. Spector rushes to the scene hoping to win back the affections of Marlene but is warned by the Priests of Khonshu not to use his powers for personal gain.

Marlene tries to perform a sneak attack against Morpheus but he thwarts the attempt and quickly recognizes her from their prior encounter.[1] He takes her hostage with the intention of using her as a ritual sacrifice when midnight strikes. Moon Knight arrives on the scene and despite his status as a civilian, is given the go-ahead to enter by Detective Flint who also gives him a canister of sleeping gas to employ. Moon Knight enters the hospital and encounters Morpheus's new followers, each bearing a distinct identity and ability to influence people with hallucinations, which they each use against Moon Knight. Despite Moon Knight's awareness of their hallucinatory nature, he is unable to withstand their impact and is injured when he is struck by one of the acolytes with a hammer. He soon realizes that he doesn't need his senses about him to utilize the sleeping gas and does so, subduing the four as the police rush in to the building wearing gas masks. Moon Knight asks Flint for one last go at Morpheus on the rooftop and Flint allows him.

Moon Knight makes it to the roof and shoots his scarab darts at Morpheus containing a drug that should put him to sleep. Initially it seems to have failed as a seemingly unaffected Morpheus blasts dark energy at Moon Knight, but he suddenly collapses when the drug takes effect, allowing Moon Knight to rescue Marlene. At a restaurant together the following day, she asks Marc to forget about them being a couple and reveals that has decided to return to her ex-husband, leaving Marc in shock.
