Synopsis for "Let's Dance"

As Reese is hunched over after a terrible ordeal, Moon Knight wants to stay while Dr Andrea Sterman demands he leave. While Marc postulates knowing the undisclosed perpetrator, and beginning his threats of harm against them, Reese tells Andrea that it's alright for him to stay as he was there too. Reese then begins her recounting events, that she and friends got together for a fun night out.

Four Hours Ago
Planning on going out dancing, Reese had finally convinced Soldier to do something other than work for the Midnight Mission. When they were getting ready, Reese ordered he finish off a bag of blood to prevent vampire cravings around humans later on in public. The two then met with her friends, Teddy and Shannon, before Jake Lockley arrived to chauffeur them in his Taxi Cab. On the way over, Jake corrected Soldier's misidentifying him as "boss" since that was the Marc persona as Reese asked about Marc's well-being. Jake attested that Marc was his usual vexed self, especially with the Shadow Cabinet deaths and losing Plesko). Reese asked if Marc thought Zodiac was responsible, Jake only answered maybe since Plesko died shortly after his examination. But he and Steven were asking around in their usual circles, and Jake ends their dour talks as they're about to go dancing and Jake took them to the hottest place in town.

Reese resumes her testimony that going out was what she did before her current state,[1] and the three friends were easing their way back into going out, especially with Jake knowing every bouncer in town to make entry all the easier. When Reese, Soldier, Teddy, and Shannon went in, Jake waited outside and even had to tell Marc that his suit was in the trunk as precaution. Given her vampire state allowed her to see in the dark, smell life, hear blood flow, and feel heartbeats, Reese could embrace the enjoyment of everyone in the room having fun to the rhythm of the music with Teddy and Shannon. Reese ordered him to have fun, as he answered to Mr. Knight, and jokingly claimed she was in charge when he wasn't while Soldier logically answered Tigra was in charge. Given his history, his defeats by seniors[2] and Zodiac,[3] and becoming a vampire,[4] Reese just wanted to take him out to have fun as nobody should be living on an alias. But their good time didn't last as the DJ was accosted and a masked villain took over to play a record, and due to their vampirism, Reese and Soldier could see what he was doing.

The new sound had sent pain through the audience except for the four of them, likely thanks to their vampiric affliction, as the audience were then in a mad berserker fury attacking each other. Reese warned Teddy and Shannon about the music, Soldier protected Reese from a frenzied club-goer, and Moon Knight swooped in not a minute after things went awry to ensure Reese and her party were safe, and partners with Soldier to fight their way out of the club. But Reese pointed out that the attackers were innocent bystanders and any more split blood may trigger one of them. Given Blade instructed her recently,[5] Reese was able to use the mist form vampire power. However, Blade taught her that the easy part of activating the power but solidifying later was the hard part, "thanking" Marc for getting the top vampire hunter for a teacher. Once she reassembled, Reese fell onto the DJ Record desk, ending the sonic attack and berserker frenzy, but one of the mastermind's goons shot Reese to escape. While she survived, six people died in the attack and dozens more were injured.

Present While Reese thinks it might have been Zodiac, the incident wasn't targeted as the four of them were under Marc's protection but weren't affected. As neither of them knew where they were going beforehand, and even Jake only stumbled upon the club, it was an accidental discovery. However, Reese believes this is connected to "The Ghost in the Telephone" who brainwashed the assassins who killed Marc's friends and likely the party-goers tonight. Marc concludes someone is using sound as a control weapon and Dr Sterman concurs given the auditory menticide, but she notes Reese, Marc, and the others were unaffected as they all had altered physiology and brain structures given their origins. Reese knows tonight was a test, a proof of concept for an auditory weapon, and as such would mean there will be another soon.
