History

Mount Vesuvius is a Volcano located in Campania, Italy, east of Naples and a short distance from the shore. It is one of several volcanoes which form the Campanian volcanic arc.

In 79 A.D., Mount Vesuvius erupted, destroying the city of Pompeii.[1]
