History
Mourning Call were scrolls written by Philip Lemarchand,[2] and containing a powerful necromantic spell. Most copies of it were destroyed by the Inquisition.
Intending to get rid of his Werewolf curse, Jack Russell bargained Werewolf hair to Zontar in exchange for one of the few existing copies, as the necromantic spell within the parchment could help him in his quest, enabling him to summon and speak to the ghost of his father and inquire on the curse.[1]Properties
Mourning Call contained a powerful necromantic spell, allowing one to speak directly to the ghost of the summoned spirit.[1]
Notes
- A parchment containing eldritch-sounding incantations, of which most copies were destroyed by the Inquisition Mourning Call is presumably a reference to the books of occultism from the Cthulhu Mythos.
- The incantation "Necronomicus Cthugron De Vermis Mortis Nhgh, Ia Wotan Str'om" is inspired by names from the Cthulhu Mythos, such as Necronomicon, Cthulhu, or De Vermis Mysteriis, while Wotan is another name of Odin.
