Synopsis for "War of the Marvels, Chapter Two: Tactical Dispositions"
Karla Sofen is flying through the city, reflecting on how much being Ms. Marvel means to her now that the original, Carol Danvers, appears to be back from the dead. In her need to talk to someone, Karla has snatched a civilian from his apartment, but when she realizes that talking is not helping, she drops him from a great height.
Meanwhile, Norman Osborn discovers someone has broken into several of the Green Goblin’s secret weapons caches over the last three days. As he reflects on who could be responsible, Lily Hollister offers to take his mind off things.
Spider-Man and Wolverine are keeping an eye on the newly resurrected Ms. Marvel as she stares fixedly out the window of the New Avengers hideout. Spider-Man asks Ms. Marvel how she is feeling, but she lashes out when he refers to her as “Carol”. She berates him for losing focus on his enemies and the battles to be fought, then flies off in disgust.
In Los Angeles, screenwriter Catherine Donovan is late for work. She has gone without sleep for several days, poring over news coverage of the fight the two Ms. Marvels had across L.A. Catherine is rattled by thoughts that somehow she is actually Carol Danvers and by a disembodied voice that asks “isn’t this what you wanted?” Catherine decides to fly to New York to try to get some answers.
Osborn’s Avengers are battling a group of grey giants in Manhattan. In the middle of the fight, Iron Patriot’s armor registers an alarm at Base 10-28 and he flies away to deal with the situation. Karla follows and finds Osborn at the apartment he shares with Lily Hollister, where an explosion has occurred. Lily holds a ream of Green Goblin’s pumpkin bombs as she stands above the unconscious body of the original Ms. Marvel.
