Myanmar officially the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and formerly known as Burma, is a country in Southeast Asia. Myanmar is bordered by Bangladesh and India to its northwest, China to its northeast, Laos and Thailand to its east and southeast, and the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal to its south and southwest.

History

Ancient History[]

An extraterrestrial being known as Maaboo landed in the mountains of ancient Burma and forced the primitive humans to place all their gold into his spacecraft. It was then he appeared to fly off, warning of his inevitable return, but this was all a subterfuge as he remained in disguise hoping to lure would be treasure seekers.[2]

19th century[]

After escaping from the Chapra jail, Iron Fist and Brahman reached Burma to free the poet emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar II.[1]

20th century[]

During World War II, Tehru working for the Imperial Japanese, used his magics to get the natives of Burma to support the Japanese in their struggles against Allies, by making it look like their gods supported the Japanese. The Young Allies intervened and Toro destroyed this illusion and made himself the locals believe he was a god. The team however were captured and plotted to use mirrors to make it appear as if the Japanese were attacking from a different locations This plan also failed due to the interference of the heroes, and the Japanese were forced to retreat.[3]

In the 1960s, Maabo now disguised as a human mountain guide, led a soldier of fortune named Dirk Collins to the treasures of Maaboo's Cult. Dirk tricked the cult out their gold, and then threatened to kill his guide. These actions convinced the alien that Dirk was the Earthling he was looking for as he wanted a prime example of the planet's worst to show off on his homeworld.[2]

While working for Weapon X, Wolverine was sent on a mission to the city of to kill everyone at a banquet, but lead to the death of everyone at the hotel.[4]

Modern Age[]

Jack 'Wolfman' Kooning traveled to Kachin to meet Xang Kong.[5] He put him on a plane piloted by Buck Richlen and gave him five of his men. Twelve hours after he lost radio contact with him, he contacted a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in Burma.[6]
