History

N'Kantu, the Living Mummy, was a member of Nick Fury's Howling Commandos. The Howling Commandos helped Spider-Man and Blade to prevent Dracula from activating Tekamentep's Ankh which would had enable Dracula to have no vampire weaknesses. After Dracula was repelled, N'Kantu took Tekamentep's Ankh for himself which he used to restore his body, and teleport to Manhattan in giant size to deal with Nick Fury in revenge. N'Kantu claimed that the Howling Commandos were part of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s "collection of freaks". N'Kantu attacked the Tri-carrier. The team helped from a giant-sized Man-Thing. Spider-Man used Blade's sword to cut Tekamentep's Anhk from around N'Kantu's neck which regressed N'Kantu back to his mummy form.

Despite N'Kantu's betrayal, he remained on the team.
