History

The Nameless were a group of Kree explorers that drifted through space until they were sucked into a wormhole, emerging in the Exoteric Latitude. There, their minor wounds were soon infected by a race of parasites called the Exolon, which "fed on the immortal souls of living beings." "Estranged" from their souls, the Kree began to forget who they were, losing all sense of self and becoming known as the Nameless. The Nameless found that the only way to remember who they once were was to inflicting pain on themselves, and soon developed self-inflicting pain rituals to regain their memories, despite being temporary.

As countless years went on, a young Kree boy named Zak-Del found himself in the Exoteric Latitude after escaping from a Kree squad who had killed his family. The Nameless grabbed hold of him and stabbed the poor boy in the chest to allow the Exolon to infect him and turn Zak-Del into one of them. However, Zak-Del, unlike the other Nameless held onto his memories of his parents' murder and after growing to become a man decided to leave the Exoteric Latitude to exact revenge. He confronted the Nameless' leader and killed him, stealing his Polymorphic Weapon and ship to return to the Kree Empire and find his family's murderer.[1]

Trivia

  • As a result of their bonding with the Exolon the Nameless possess pale skin, emaciated bodies, and long white hair, bearing a strong resemblance to Knull, who is revealed to be the creator and god of the Exolon.[2]
