The Sub-Mariner was a superhero during World War II. After gamma bombs were dropped on Japan, many Japanese citizens were empowered by the radiation, and quickly turned the tide of war in Japan’s favor. These Emperor’s Oni massacred the Allies’ superheroes, forcing Namor to flee. Forty years later the Sub-Mariner re-emerged, joining newer superheroes like the Hulk in fighting the Oni.[1]
