Nancy is a high shcool student alongside her best friend/roommate Doreen Green, aka Squirrel Girl. She would usually cover for Doreen whenever she would publicly display her powers around like when Green jumped into a bush and Nancy had to tell the other students that that was just a Skrull shape-shifter who had taken Doreen's form.[1]
