Black Widow was a leading Agent of SHIELD when Wolverine signed on. After an initial adjustment period, she truly enjoyed working alongside Logan.
Natasha had giant 80's poofy red hair until she had problems with it in battle with LMDs alongside Wolverine. He cut it for her using his claws. (Or at least alluded to doing so, and her hair got cut some other way).[1]
