History
When the Celestial exterminator destroyed the planet Earth, Cable and the mutant race survived on a vast ark created by the Clan Akkaba, raptured to safety by the last act of the Scarlet Witch.
Cable and the leaders of the X-Men formed an X-Council to govern the new world they settled on. Unfortunately, the former X-Man and Avengers leader Havok wanted to undo the formation of Planet X with his human wife, the Wasp. Cable's own knowledge of time travel insisted that saving the Earth was impossible, and so Havok was treated as a threat to Planet X.
