The child of Scott Summers and Madelyne Pryor, Christopher Summers was one of the extremely few babies both of mutant union, a fact that greatly concerned Apocalypse, as he feared that the mutants were a non-viable genetic offshoot. To determine the full truth about the baby's origins, and kidnapped Christopher Summers.[1] He took him to the laboratory of his mother's creator, Mr. Sinister, to look at Sinister's research files. Nathan Christopher's parents and the X-Factor followed Apocalypse and found that Sinister also created an adult clone of Christopher, as well as multiple baby variations of him still the vats.[2] Archangel attacked his former master, but Apocalypse returned the baby to Cyclops, confirming that he was indeed genetic child of him and Jean Grey. Apocalypse then informed X-Factor that they had to take the baby to the Celestials, as he was the talisman that would preserve the Earth for another thousand years. Back in Manhattan, Cyclops handed baby Christopher over to Arishem the Judge, who gave the "thumbs up" signal and returned Christopher to his parents.[3]
