History
Cable's history is presumably similar to his Earth-616 counterpart's up to the point when Apocalypse attempted to cure Professor X of the Techno-Organic Virus afflicting him. Apocalypse failed, however, and Professor X died. Elsewhere, Cable, Wolverine, and Bishop was attempting to rescue Jean Grey and Cyclops from Stryfe, unaware that Jean and Cyclops were dead due to a psychic scream sent by Professor X after he died. As Cable and his allies were battling the Dark Riders, Stryfe appeared, killed Wolverine and Bishop, and took Cable prisoner. Cable tried to convince Stryfe to help him fight Apocalypse, but Stryfe refused.
After killing most of the X-Men after they refused to make him their leader, he went to Stryfe's base on the Moon and took back leadership of the Dark Riders. When the X-Men tried fighting Apocalypse, they were defeated. Cable then confronted Apocalypse after escaping from his confinement, but he was overpowered and almost killed by Apocalypse when Stryfe appeared. With a changed demeanor after Jean and Cyclops died, Stryfe attacked Apocalypse and killed the villain and himself with Cable's time vortex device. Cable wanted to help Stryfe, but he couldn't and was rescued by Cannonball. Cable then took up leadership of the X-Men, leading it with a mixture of Professor X's ideals and his own.[1]
