History
Raised by his parents in the present day, Nathaniel Summers was in a superhero team with Magik and Warlock.
Nathaniel surprised his family by announcing his intent to marry Amiko, daughter of Logan and Mariko. On the day of the engagement party where most of both families have gathered, Nathaniel was possessed by Onslaught from Earth-696. Onslaught tricked Jean Grey and hid its presence until the last moment, in which was able to subdue her and began taking her Phoenix Force for itself. Jean's team of Multiversal Wolverines rushed to her aid, but were stopped by Nathaniel's friends and family who did not wish to see him harmed. Ignored by others, Wolverine from Earth-X made the tough choice and cut off Nathaniel's arm with which his body was holding Jean. The shock caused Onslaught to flee, but Nathaniel was wounded and about to die from blood loss. Jean was too weakened to help, so Warlock stepped in and patched the wound with his Techno-Organic Virus, creating a replacement arm to the one that was sliced off. Nathaniel awoke in severe pain, but Jean assured that his powers could keep both the pain and the Techno-Organic infection at bay.[1]
