Synopsis for "The Ties that Bind (Part 6): One of Us"
As Laurie, Xi'an, Dani, Nurse Annie, and Beast rushed Josh to a hospital bed, Beast revealed that Josh was an Omega-class mutant. While they attempted to reach Warren, Dani suspected that the telepathic link she used to share with Rahne was returning. Laurie, Sofia, and David were allowed to see Josh while Nori refused to go with David, as she believed that David acted worried with Josh after judging him, similar to what David acted towards her. David believed that Josh wouldn't make it, so Laurie ran out crying and Sofia followed her moments before Nori entered the room and learned why David was worried about Josh. David learned that Nori ran away from home.
At the outskirts of the Salem Center, an unhinged Wolfsbane scared away the homeless before Dani found her and gave words of encouragement to her. Rahne reverted to her human form before going home with Dani. Back at Xavier's, Laurie told Sofia that she used her pheromones to scare away Rahne and save Josh. Beast informed Annie that Warren could not arrive for another hour and David brought up that Josh could heal himself if he was awake. Nori suggested shocking Josh in order to wake him up, although both David and Beast protested at first. Nori shocked Josh, waking him up, allowing him to heal himself, but also turning his skin gold, possibly a secondary mutation. As Josh thanked Laurie and held her hand, Rahne and Dani walked in and the redhead apologized to the bedridden student. Josh took the credit for reawakening Rahne's powers, but she stormed out of the room.
Later that night, Dani entered Josh's room and suggested that him turning gold was his own doing and not a secondary mutation. Josh suggested that he was too much trouble for Dani and offered to switch advisors and the latter revealed that his parents had given up custody of him to her, making her his legal guardian.
A few days later, Dani and Nori waited outside of Grind Stone for Luna where the Japanese mutant apologized to the barista before asking to work there to make up for the money she stole. Although Luna was reluctant, Nori was hired and her first customers were David, Sofia, Laurie, and Josh.
