Synopsis for "The Ties that Bind (Part 2): Parents Week"
While playing with a frisbee with Victor, Santo, and Julian, Josh insisted on changing advisors. Then, they saw a homeless girl ask to be let inside, although Julian refused before she vanished. Then, Northstar approached Julian and Josh and ordered them to do their punishment assignments, starting with preparations for Parent Week. Dani took Xi'an to the Grind Stone Cafe where she introduced her to the barista named Luna.
During Parents Week reception, David showed his parents around his dorm and introduced them to Josh. David's parents insisted that Josh join them, although the latter protested. Josh introduced his parents to Sofia and claimed that he also called her father, while Derek also visited her. Meanwhile, Northstar made Julian take care of registration, although the latter got out by claiming that his parents didn't love him. Victor introduced his parents to Xi'an. Then, Julian told Victor what he had done, although his parents were actually skiing in the Alps.
At the Grind Stone Cafe, David's father revealed to him that he had been rejected from Harvard due to his powers and his known enrollment at Xavier's.
The next morning, Walter visited Sofia, then turned to Derek, claiming that finding a replacement for him was impossible. This enraged Sofia, who believed that her father only came back for Derek and that Derek only wanted his old job back. Sofia chased the two away with her powers before Emma calmed her down. As Emma offered her help to Sofia, Dani ordered the woman to get away from her student. As Dani confronted Emma, Sofia cried about having no family left.
Julian entered Northstar's office and asked to have Emma as his new advisor. Northstar agreed, although reluctantly. Then, Julian asked Emma to take on Josh, as well. She accepted and revealed that he was a former Reaver. As David approached Sofia and Laurie, Julian and Santo confronted Josh for his past as a Reaver, triggering a fight. David and Sofia intervened, causing Santo to attack David. Laurie attempted to break up the fight before Dani used her powers to end it, herself.
When Sofia and Laurie returned to their dorm, they saw Derek and he shared a hug with Sofia, while Laurie went to study. David's parents reprimanded him for fighting on the front lawn and insisted that he leave with them. However, David insisted on staying and abandoned his dream of attending Harvard. David returned to his dorm and gave Josh a detention notice flier attached to their door. Before David studied, Josh thanked him for sticking up for him.
When Luna entered the Grind Stone, she found the lights off, then went to take the trash to the dumpster. Outside, she saw the girl Julian had encountered earlier and was shocked by electricity.
