Flag of New Zealand
New Zealand was an island nation in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country consisted of two main islands: the North Island, or Te Ika-a-Māui, and the South Island, or Te Waipounamu, and various smaller islands. New Zealand's capital city was Wellington, while its most populous city was Auckland.[1] It was originally part of the British Empire, but in the early 20th century it became a semi-autonomous federal dominion. In 1947, New Zealand became an independent nation but still retained King Charles III as its head of state.
