Synopsis for "Flashpoint"
Lieutenant Travis Slaine was tied up in a chair by military officials for insubordination, while being briefed on a potential mission. Slaine accepted the mission and was cut free so that he could join the rest of his team. Meanwhile, Nightwatch was at his grave in St. Raymond's Cemetery, thinking about how he had been "put to rest", and about how another person had died in his stead, Slaine was diving underwater with the rest of his team, attempting to drill into rocks for the Star-Shard; codenamed: Flashpoint. The Navy ordered Slaine to pull out as the unit had discovered a glowing maw that began to pull them in. However, Slaine refused and was able to escape the maw. Slaine absorbed the radiation and emerged, attacking the Navy officers in the ship. Nightwatch was flying in the night sky until he landed in the Morelle Complex, but not without encountering the exterior laser security system. He came looking for Ashley, but instead, encountered Killian Fox. Then, he jumped out of the building, flying out again, finding a trail of radiation that lead to a hole in the roof. After entering the hole, he encountered Slaine, who called himself "Flashpoint." Nightwatch and Flashpoint fought, as the latter attempted to acquire another star-shard. Nightwatch grabbed the shard and flew out of the building with it, being tailed by Flashpoint. Noticing that Flashpoint had been spreading radiation throughout the block, Nightwatch decided to lure him to a less populated area. However, Flashpoint was determined to acquire the last two star-shards, so Nightwatch thought that he had to save him before he could cause more destruction throughout the city. Meanwhile, at Ryker's Island, a guard passed on information to the prisoners that Nightwatch was fighting in Central Park. From his prison cell, Alfredo Morelli instructed to have the mechamorph agenda launched immediately.
