Norman Osborn did not survive his battle with Spider-Man following the death of Gwen Stacy. The Jackal planned to clone him as a plot to torment Ben Reilly and Peter Parker (though they were not aware of this) before he is murdered by Kaine. However, Harry Osborn, who was revealed to be alive, managed to obtain the clone pod and release Norman. This clone was quite sane due to never being exposed to the Goblin Serum, and he made repeated efforts to convince his insane son to stop his maniacal plans. He ultimately sacrificed himself to save the Parkers and baby May from Harry, who swore vengeance.[2]
