Synopsis for "The Origin of the Simple Surfer!"
Brief Summary:
Growing tired of his banishment on Earth, the Simple Surfer thinks back to the days before he became Galacticus' herald. He tells the story of Borin' Kadd and how he saved his home planet, Hoop-La, from Galacticus.

Detailed Summary:
Tired of being trapped on Earth, the Surfer thinks back of times past and his home planet Hoop-La.
On the planet of Hoop-la, the man named Borin' Kadd was going to be married to his girlfriend Shallo Gal. However, a fateful interruption fatefully interrupts with the news that a gigantic alien spacecraft was going to destroy the planet. Borin' Kadd gets into his spaceship and leaves the planet, hoping to escape the alien threat. However, he gets swallowed up by the orb-like spaceship instead.
Inside the orb, Kadd meets Galacticus, the most powerful star-to-star salesman in all the galaxy. He's looking for an assistant and Kadd quickly volunteers, hoping to avoid his impending marriage. Galacticus warps him in Saran Wrap, gives Kadd the power of a silver surfboard, and renames him The Simple Surfer.
Simple Surfer flies back home to give Shallo Gal the bad news, only to find that Shallo Gal has a new boyfriend named The Watchit. Heartbroken, The Simple Surfer flies away to start working for Galacticus. His career ends quickly when he gives a free lifetime magazine subscription to the Fantastical Four. Galacticus gets mad and banishes The Simple Surfer to Earth.
Depressed at first, the Surfer's demeanor improves once he heads to the beach and finds a group to call his own: fellow surfers.
