History

To protect Xandar from Ronan the Accuser, Nova Corps leader Nova Prime elected to enclose Xandar in an impenetrable planetary shield, trapping everyone on the planet. She also saw potential in Nebula and extended her an offer to join the Nova Corps. Five tumultuous years passed, and Nova Prime changed her mind and secretly sought to surrender Xandar to Ronan. Since the access codes could only be used by a cyborg, Nova Prime manipulated Nebula into doing it for her. However Nebula had anticipated Nova Prime's betrayal, subtly altering the codes she, ensuring that the planetary shield would close as Ronan's Dark Aster breached Xandar's defenses. The ensuing catastrophic collision obliterated Ronan's ship. Nova Prime, desperate to escape accountability, plummeted to her demise.
