As Conan and his Army of Liberation were heading towards the capital city and Numitor's forces were the only close enough to stop Conan, the king's counselor and mage Thulandra Thuul went from Tarantia to have him move his army to reach the Imirian Escarpment before the rebels to delay their arrival to the capital Tarantia until Count Ulric of Raman and his forces could arrive, but also to be guard that Numitor against "some asinine musjudment". Thulandra Thuu also used a few of his men to capture Satyrs in Brocellian Forest, useful for his spells.
Numitor and his troop took position on the Imirian Plateau. Numitor disagreed on the position Thulandra Thuu had chosen, too fa from the gorge known as the Giant's Notch, risking to have the rebels reach the Imirian Plateau.
The retreating Frontiersmen joined with Ulric's forces but, before witnesses, slew himself in despair over his failures. Conan considered it a pity, as he felt that Numitor "was the most decent of a bad lot".
Numitor was repeatedly described as a fool, that Numedides hadn't slain nor exiled as he didn't saw him as a claimant to the throne.
