The Office of Strategic Services (O.S.S.) was a wartime intelligence agency of the United States during World War II, and a predecessor to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

History

The OSS recognized Nick Fury's potential during the war, using him for a few missions into German-occupied France, and based on this he was officially recruited by Colonel Tom Lynaugh in 1954. He later trained as an agent for the CIA, serving through until he became a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.
