The first Omega Flight team was formed by Jerry Jaxon to destroy James Hudson and Alpha Flight.
Later, the Master constituted his own team to destroy Alpha Flight as well.
In the wake of the American heroes' Civil War, a government backed team was formed by both American and Canadian heroes, including the mutant Michael Pointer, known as the Collective, wielding the costume and name of Guardian, one of the heroes he had previously killed. Department H later recreated it by using previously unknown super-heroes.
