Synopsis for "Chapter Five: One World Under Doom"

After enduring Dormammu's onslaught, Doom summoned back Earth's banished heroes to attack the Chaos Lord. Despite the heroes' wariness towards Doom, they understand the need to work alongside Doom to stop the greater threat posed by Dormammu. Instructed by Doom, the Scarlet Witch uses her magical powers to cut off Dormammu's connection to the Dark Dimension while the other heroes force the Chaos Lord’s attention on themselves. This allows Doom to recover the Eye of Agamotto and use its power to restore his own. Empowered by his magic, willpower, and sheer hate towards Dormammu, Doom conjures a powerful spell to banish Dormammu back to his dimension, where he will be held there in eternal spells designed by Doom's own making. Doom explains to the heroes that his spells are tied to Earth in which Dormammu will remain trapped in the Dark Dimension as long as Earth remains under Doom's rule.

In the aftermath, the public once again thanks Doom for saving their world and as well being convinced that Earth's heroes can fight alongside Doom, and thereby proving a truly united world. Meanwhile, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and other heroes participate in rescue operations at the ruins of the United Nations building.

During the rescue operations, many people that were caught in Dormammu's attack were kept alive and safe by Doom's protection spell. Some of the heroes begin to reconsider their opinions about Doom, believing that he may indeed be altruistic. Others however, such as Squirrel Girl and Brain Drain, believe that despite Doom achieving his humanitarian goals there is a possibility that Doom has an underlying agenda that no one has yet realized. Then to everyone's surprise, Thor voices his full approval of Doom being Earth's leader, stating that he is maybe their planet's best choice.

Thor elaborates Doom's rule, though questionable, is not any different from his father Odin whose rule was not perfect but he succeeded as king and protector of the Ten Realms, ensuring that everyone is safe and prosperous. But Thor's rationale is met with outrage from Iron Man, who then rants that Doom is a master manipulator who arranged events and putting heroes against each other to build his benign appearance, and even believing that Doom could have orchestrated his battle with Dormammu to further this scheme. Squirrel Girl also expresses her skepticism about Doom by reminding that the Latverian emperor denied the people's freedom. Thor remains unmoved by their concerns as he reminds that Doom's actions today from banishing Dormammu to protecting the people from the attack speaks for itself, in which everyone cannot ignore that by simply disliking him.

Everyone is left to ponder Thor's words until Maria Hill suddenly appears on the scene and claims that she knows why Doom is successful to become Emperor of Earth while everyone opposed to him loses because he is hiding something that is "going to take all of us."
