Enter Operation Zero Tolerance. Trask Sentinels. Well, they're too blunt. Mutants spot 'em a mile away. We need something deadly, but discreet. Before today, this fellow was your average Joe. With all this mutant-loving, people like Joe turned to dial-up chat rooms to speak freely, to connect. Builders lay off a dozen workers and hire one mutant with the strength of 10 men. What's a taxi driver supposed to do when a teleporter gets you there in a blink? The human community is scared. Of course they are. They've been told over and over that the future is leaving them behind. But I invite them to be relevant again.
History
Operation Zero Tolerance is the culmination of Bastion's long laid-out plans. Having manipulated mutant-human relationships from the shadows, he has seeded thousands of Prime Sentinels among the population, to act as sleeper agents and bide their time.[1] Using a new Master Mold to launch a devastating attack on Genosha, Bastion made a first move in a play intended to reshape the world. His ally Bolivar Trask was horrified by the attack and tried to repent by leaking information to the X-Men, only to be transformed into the first publicly seen Prime Sentinel. Bastion also had Henry Gyrich killed for acting without his approval and obtained evidence of Charles Xavier being alive to discredit the "fallen" mutant leader.[2] A small hurdle in his plans was introduced when Valerie Cooper had a crisis of consciense and released the imprisoned Magneto, but by that point Bastion considered it a small matter as countless Prime Sentinels have been activated and were targeting the mutants, laying siege to the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. To his folly, Magneto traveled to the North Pole and used the planet's magnetic field to unleash a global EMP, disabling all of Bastion's machines as well as all of humanity's infrastructure in the process.[1] After the black out, all the Prime Sentinels were left frozen. Later on, when the X-Men attacked Bastion's headquarters on Isla Morada, he used an army of normal Sentinels to defend himself from the X-Men.[3] With Bastion's death, thanks to the Magneto Protocols, it's very likely OZT has been disbanded.[4]
