History
Desiring vengeance on Thunderstrike and the Avengers for his earlier defeat,[3][4] Tyrus the Terrible obtained the Orb of Orikal and invaded the Avengers Compound through a dimensional portal. Using the Orb of Orikal, Tyrus began syphoning off Thunderstrike's Uru energy. However, when Thunderstrike began willing sending his power into the orb, it overloaded and exploded injuring Tyrus.[2]
Properties
The Orb of Orikal was an enchanted device that could attract and absorb Uru energy. However, there is a limit to how much energy could be absorbed or how fast it can absorb that energy.[2]
