Synopsis for "Dust to Dust"

Dog Logan is tracking Rose and James and talking with a local trapper who tells him where they are. Dog kills the trapper as he leaves. In the meantime, James (Logan) has become distant from Rose as he is hurt by her engagement to Smitty. He tells her he always thought they would end up together. Smitty, meanwhile, is trying to sell off some possessions in order to raise money so that he and Rose can make their way to Vancouver, where he is to take another job, better suited for a family man. Unsuccessful in his attempt, Smitty decides to enter into a cage fight tournament to earn the money. Logan also enters it and after having the pleasure of beating down his nemesis, Cookie, he fights Smitty in the final match, but takes a dive so that he and Rose can live happily together. As Logan says his goodbyes to Smitty, he is suddenly attacked by Dog, who intends to kill him. Logan beats him but as he is about to throw a killing blow with his claws, Rose comes to try to protect him, but trips into Logan's extended claws and dies. Logan runs back to the mountains to be with his wolf brothers and Smitty unsuccessfully tries to track him down. To make matters worse, Cookie, in a final act of treachery, destroys Rose's diary so that no one, especially Logan, will ever be able to know the whole story as Rose has seen it.
