History

Orphan Maker was a former Red Room assassin who hadn't killed anyone in years. When a new incarnation of the Red Room emerged and started murdering all competition, from Hydra to even former Red Room agents, Orphan Maker attacked Hawkeye and Winter Soldier while they were staking out a Red Room safe house in Manhattan, believing the Winter Soldier to be behind the murders. Hawkeye defused the situation, but before Orphan Maker could reveal who was behind the Red Room emergence, she was abruptly shot in the head by the returned Black Widow, who was also opposing the Red Room. When she was destroying the cloning program responsible for bringing her back to life, Black Widow had the psychic Epsilon Red transfer Anya's memories to a brain-dead clone body to bring her back to life.
