History

The Mad Mechanic was a Nazi scientist who was active during World War II. Located in the Swiss Alps, he created a number of high tech gadgets to help the Nazi war effort. By 1944, he had made his presence known by sending Swiss watches rigged with explosives to the United States. These watches were to be used by the Navy. However, when one went off killing a commanding officer, it was witnessed by the Young Allies who then disposed of the other watches. Finding a message from the Mad Mechanic in one of the pieces of shrapnel, the Young Allies tracked the Mad Mechanic to his hideout in the Alps.

Despite his efforts to kill the Young Allies, the young heroes made their way into his hideout but were snared in his wire gun. He then left the Allies while he used his massive spiked ball tank to destroy Allied defenses. When the Young Allies freed themselves, Bucky and Knuckles O'Toole went after him, sending his tank off a cliff and taking the Mad Mechanic prisoner. The Mad Mechanic turned the tide, knocking the two youths out, retaking his base, and attacking the other Young Allies with his army of robots.

As the Young Allies fought off these mechanical attackers, the Mad Mechanic led another army of robots to attack the Allied Forces. The Allies soon caught up with him and easily forced his command microphone from his hands. When Bucky ordered the robots to attack each other, the Mad Mechanic attempted to stop his creations from fighting and was trampled to death.

The Mad Mechanic had access to cannons, explosives and other fire arms. He protected himself with a gun that fire coiled wire to ensnare his foes.

The Mad Mechanic created a massive armored vehicle that consisted of a large spiked ball that could roll over and crush small buildings.
