History
The Doctor. Otto Octavius was a genius physicist until an accident with a harness with four mechanical tentacles took him from respected scientist to superhuman criminal.[4] He often faces Spider-Man and loses, which leads to the founding of the Sinister Six.[1][4]
Cosmic Brick Incident[]
Fight at the Baxter Building[]
Dr. Octopus was one of the many villains who helped Doctor Doom collect the Cosmic Bricks from the Silver Surfer's surfboard. Breaking into the Baxter Building and stealing the Bricks Mr. Fantastic was studying at the Baxter Building. Captain America and Reed Richards pursued Doctor Octopus, causing him to leave and head to the roof, damaging the lab along the way. Doctor Octopus fled across various rooftops. Eventually, this led Octavius to the Daily Bugle, where he stormed through the office and led Spider-Man to take action against him. The trio pursued Doc Ock to Times Square where they defeated him in combat, before the three grabbed his Cosmic Brick Green Goblin swooped in on his Goblin Glider to take the Cosmic Brick back to Oscorp. Upon being apprehended, Doctor Octopus' photo was taken by the press.
Last Stand on the Helicarrier[]
Doc Ock was later one of the villains who helped S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers fight Loki and Galactus. Ock was assigned to 'Team Three' with Nick Fury, Reed Richards and Captain America. Team Three built a Black Hole generator to knock Galactus in, however, Galactus refused to let go, leaving the responsibility of knocking him in to Team Four. Team Four's plan worked, knocking Loki and Galactus into the black hole and the earth was saved. As per Fury and Doom's earlier agreement, the villains were given a thirty second head-start to escape, an idea that was unintentionally sabotaged by Hulk's inability to count past three, allowing the villains to escape.[1]
Clean-Up at the Daily Bugle[]
Agent Phil Coulson had Dr. Octopus clean up the mess he made at the Daily Bugle's office; reassembling a broken window, fixing the door to J. Jonah Jameson's office, repairing a photocopier, putting out an office fire, cleaning the floor and getting some dried cat food off the ceiling. Jameson congratulated the two, promising to take back everything he said about them and giving them a 4% discount to Bugle papers.[1]
Maximum Overload[]
Octavius attacked a base of S.H.I.E.L.D. in New Jersey in order to get the Missel Beta, until he was hit with a Nornfrost by Loki, which gave him an overload on his abilities. At Nick Fury's request, Spider-Man goes to the base that Octavius was attacking, the two begin to fight and Otto is defeated and electrocuted. Octavius would be taken by Fury into custody at the Hellicarrier.[2] Later with the escape of the villains with overload of the Helicarrier, Octavius was present, until he was defeated once more and arrested[5] on the Raft.[4]
Kang's Invasion[]
In some unknown way, Octavius escaped from Raft with Shocker, Mysterio, Vulture and Kraven the Hunter. Nick Fury would notice his escape and alert the Avengers about it. Ock along with the other four villains attacked the New York Bridge, and consequently would fight against Ms. Marvel, White Tiger and Spider-Man. All of them would be defeated, and transported to Chronopolis along with Manhattan.[4]
Climate Conundrum[]
Octavius attacked a building in front of Peter's college, which caught the attention of Spider-Man who started a confrontation against him.[6][7]
Spider-Verse[]
A newspaper mentioning him on the front page is seen at Daily Bugle when Peter Parker leaves daily bugle to change into Spider-Man right after Spot visits this universe.[8]Paraphernalia
