The Outer Dark are one or many extradimensional realms, ruled by the Haemovore Kings of the Outer Dark, and part of the Splinter Realms[2] (also known as the Archipelago of Anguish and Redemption[11] or as the Outer Darkness itself).[9] The Outer Dark was also stated to be "beyond the Universe itself".[4][5]
References to the "Outer Dark" would typically refer to demons of the third class, of extradimensional origin, primarily the Old Ones and the N'Garai.[3] Such case including Demon-Bats summoned during the Hyborian Age),[1][12] or the emissary summoned by Alisabeth Daemon.[13]
History
Great Old Gods[]
The Great Old Ones were stated to be "near-gods" from the Outer Dark, described as being "beyond Universe itself".[4]
Set/Ibis conflict[]
Allegedly, Set and Ibis fought in the Outer Darkness for a "thousand centuries",[6] at least since and throughout the Pre-Cataclysmic Age, and into the Hyborian Age.
Hyborian Age[]
During the Hyborian Age, the "devils from the Outer Dark" were not uncommon, lurking "outside the belt of light which surrounds" Earth, some finding their way there and taking flesh forms, according to the Wise Men of Zamora.[1]
During the Age of Conan, Isuus' name was invoked by Stornella in the spell to resurrect King Ctesphon III (Neftha) and have her mind hurled into the Outer Darkness while Stornella's mind would inhabit Ctesphon's body.[8]
Modern Age[]
In modern days, the Outer Dark was allegedly ruled by Kthara, Mother of Demons,[14] then by the Haemovore Kings of the Outer Dark, part of the Lords of the Splinter Realms.[2] While Kthara's claim's truth remains unknown, the Haemovore Kings' membership among the Lords of the Splinter Realms seemingly confirms their status.
In a bid to stop the chaos caused by the rampaging God of Hammers, Odin Borson had Sif use the Bifrost to banish Mjolnir to the Void beyond the boundaries of the universe. However, Mjolnir escaped and returned to Earth in seconds.[5]Residents

Yiggorum (though stated to be from the Dark Dimension) was also mentioned as being from the Outer Darkness.[7]
Set and Ibis fought in the Outer Darkness.[6]Notes
- In Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series (adapted by Marvel Comics), The Red, also known as the Outer Dark, is a force of evil.
