History
Paradigm Micronics was a company owning several designs and patents with military potential. While they were working in a new revolutionary weapon, Paradigm was absorbed by weapon manufacturer Deterrence Research Corporation (DRC), who wanted Paradigm's designs and patents. Disregarding any other of Paradigm's assets, including buildings and staff, DRC simply laid off Paradigm's employees and kept their buildings, but failed to check what was in them. DRC thus failed to notice that Paradigm had already built a prototype for their new weapon, which was kept in Paradigm's old, abandoned corporate headquarters.[1]
The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, at that point led by Blob, and including Post, Toad[1] and the Mimic, discovered about the forgotten weapon prototype and planned to steal it from DRC[1][2] at Paradigm's facility, so as to sell the device afterward for a huge profit. However, just when they were being briefed about the specifics,[1] the High Evolutionary caused a worldwide regression of all mutant powers, causing the Brotherhood to lose theirs, which were critical for the operation.[1][2] The process was reversed soon afterward, causing the Brotherhood to recover their powers;[3][2] but it is unclear whether they retook the operation.Paraphernalia
