History

A citizen of Ireland,[1] Patrick Mahony was recruited by Mister Sinister to serve as the leader of the Nasty Boys as Ramrod, a group of young mutants whose first and only missions were against the government sponsored X-Factor. However, he and his friend Ruckus were more interested in beer runs and a quick buck than in Mister Sinister's agendas.

When the Nasty Boys fought the government version of X-Factor, Ramrod used his powers to great effect against the heroes, but he was ultimately subdued by the multiple fists of Jamie Madrox.[2] After being captured, Ramrod was deported after the government determined he was in the country illegally.[3]

Mr. Sinister reassembled the Nasty Boys in Hawaii briefly for a fight with Havok and Polaris, but Ramrod and most of the gang haven't been seen since then.[4]

It is unknown if Ramrod retained his mutant powers after the M-Day.

Later, he and Ruckus attempted to rob a bank in England, but they were caught and taken into custody. However, when a cloud of Terrigen Mist threatened the lives of the two mutants in the British prison, Storm sent the X-Men to rescue the pair. Wolverine and Nightcrawler easily found Ruckus inside his cell, but the trio had to fight their way through a prison riot to find Ramrod. Ruckus escaped with Ramrod and the X-Men to X-Haven, their base of operations. The X-Men placed Ramrod and Ruckus in prison cells to serve out the rest of their sentences.[5]

When the Upstarts resurfaced, Ramrod and the other Nasty Boys were killed to only be used as bait to lure out the X-Men.[6]
