History
Pete Hawkins worked for the NOPD with his partner Samuel Tate. The two had investigated kidnappings perpetrated by the Cult of the Dark Lord when Sam received a call from Brother Voodoo at his mansion on the outskirts of New Orleans concerning Sam's daughter.
Before Pete and Sam made it to the mansion the Cult of the Dark Lord had attacked the mansion and kidnapped Sam's daughter, Loralee, to be their next sacrifice. Sam tried to stop Brother Voodoo from intervening in the case as he believed he would risk his daughter's life but Brother Voodoo left in a puff of smoke to investigate.[2]
After learning the whereabouts of his daughter from Mama Limbo, Voodoo made his way to the Castle of the Forsaken located on Headtaker's Hill where he was ambushed and bound to an inverted cross.[3] After escaping and proving the power of the Dark Lord was a lie conjured up by Mama Limbo in order to sacrifice the girls for her own beauty renewal the cult disbanded and turned on their leader, the Black Talon, killing him. With both the Black Talon and his mother, Mama Limbo, dead, and the cult no more Brother Voodoo returned Loralee back to her father safe.[4]
