History

Early Life[]

Teenage Peter from Marvel´s Spider-Man 2

15-year old Peter

Peter Parker was born circa 1995 to Richard and Mary Parker, two government agents whose deaths were covered up as a plane accident. He grew up in Queens, living with his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Peter was interested in science from a young age, and he grew up idolizing a scientist named Otto Octavius. Peter attended Midtown High School, and was close friends with Mary Jane Watson.

Peter as The Spider

When Peter was fifteen years old, he was bitten by a radioactive spider during a science demonstration. The spider bite granted him superhuman powers such as the proportional agility, strength and speed of a spider, as well as the ability to climb walls. Peter fashioned a rudimentary costume for himself out of a shirt and pants and a mask and engineered his own homemade web fluid and web-shooters and began wrestling for money under the moniker "The Spider". During his first match, he faced the famous wrestler Crusher Hogan, whom he defeated easily with his newfound abilities.

Tragedy struck again; however, when Peter's beloved Uncle Ben was murdered by a burglar and died in Peter's arms. Though this was traumatizing and heartbreaking, Peter carried on and began using his powers to help the people of New York, taking the lesson his Uncle Ben once taught him, that "With great power comes great responsibility," to heart.

Around a week after Ben's death, Peter met Harry Osborn on school, when Harry was the only person that came to talk to him to see how Peter was feeling after his uncle's death. since then, they became best friends.

Spider-Man's First Appearance

Spider-Man makes his debut to the public

Peter designed a new suit for himself, one with a red and blue pattern and web designs, and began calling himself "Spider-Man." As New York's newest hero, he helped to stop petty crimes across the city and gained a reputation for either being a menacing vigilante or a savior to the people. Peter also took up photography in his free time, eventually landing a job as a freelance photographer with the Daily Bugle assigned to take pictures of Spider-Man in action. While the job brought in money, his pictures were often used in J. Jonah Jameson's smear campaign against the web-head. While at the Bugle, Peter also worked with another photographer, Eddie Brock.

Peter operated as Spider-Man for eight years, coming to blows with the likes of Rhino, Vulture, Scorpion, and his first genuinely super-powered foe, Electro. He managed to defeat them all and lock them up in the secure superhuman prison, the Raft. Other villains that Peter encountered included the Sandman, the The Lizard, Mysterio, Hammerhead and the Shocker.

At one point in high school, his bully, Flash Thompson, broke Harry's laptop, which contained a project they were going to use for the science fair. Peter and Harry would sneak into the school at night to retrieve a thumb drive containing a copy of the project, which would be renamed "Heal the World". Using his powers, Peter was able to retrieve the drive and witnessed Harry's father telling him about his mother's death upon his arrival in helicopter.[1]

Sometime later, his career as a photographer came to an end with the last straw being when Jameson pushed the blame of Electro's killings towards Spider-Man, causing Peter to quit working for the Bugle. Peter also became a delivery boy for the restaurant, Pizza Amigos, believing that his web swinging could help deliver pizzas fast enough although he would often accidentally crush the deliveries.

Spider-Man's biggest rival with whom he clashed early on was Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin of the Manhattan underworld at one point he gained a money prize of Fisk Industries but he would ditch the money away since he was aware of Wilson's true nature but he used that as an excuse to stop wearing glasses, lying that he used the money to pay for a surgery for his eyes. However, Peter was not without allies. He gained the trust of the NYPD Captain Yuriko Watanabe, forming a secret partnership with her. Mary Jane became Peter's confidant, and they started dating in senior year of college. They had a stable relationship and even planned on moving together for a while, but they broke up due to Peter's constant concern for Mary Jane's safety due to the dangers of her career as an investigative reporter. At some point after breaking up with MJ, Peter came to cross paths with the infamous cat-burglar Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat. She eventually fell in love with Peter, and due to her feelings for him, she gave up on her crime life, becoming Spider-Man's partner for a brief period of time as well as romantically involved, but disappeared from his life soon after when he discovered that she returned to her old life as a thief.

After finishing high school, Peter attended Empire State University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biophysics. Peter worked as a teaching assistant for a semester at his University. His thesis of neurotechnology earned Peter a job as a research lab assistant with Otto Octavius at Octavius Industries. Between his work as Spider-Man and his job at the laboratory, Peter managed to find time to lend his Aunt May a hand at a homeless shelter program called F.E.A.S.T. founded by philanthropist Martin Li.[7]

During his early years at ESU Peter’s life at Spider-Man continued to clash with his personal life. One notable instance was when Vulture terrorized the school looking for his old research partner Greg Bestmen in hopes of killing him. Peter intervened as Spider-Man and the two clashed. As the two fought Vulture began to get the best of Spider-Man thanks to his superior speed. Despite seemingly being outclassed Peter motivated by Mary Jane and Harry cheering him on gave Peter the strength to succeed and drive Vulture off. The fight would go on to teach Peter that no matter what he faced he could overcome with a combination of resolve, confidence, and commitment.[5]

City at War[]

Spider-Man in his traditional red and blue suit

Having become used to the ins and outs of the superhero world, Peter had no problem regularly taking down thieves and the occasional supervillains. His conflict with Wilson Fisk reached a tipping point after the NYPD finally found something on Fisk. Waking up the day of Fisk's arrest, Peter donned his Spider-Man suit and made his way to Fisk Tower to help the police raid the building. Fighting his way through Fisk's men, Spider-Man managed to take Fisk down and end his reign as the Kingpin, sending him to prison. Fisk gave a grave warning before being arrested, however, stating that without him to rule the criminal underworld with an iron fist, chaos would ensue. Peter's suit was damaged in the clash, however, forcing him to go to Dr. Octavius's lab to repair it. He was caught in the act by Octavius, who seemingly assumed Peter was Spider-Man's suit designer and promised to keep it as a secret between the two of them.

Peter's new suit: The Advanced Suit

While Peter was asleep, Octavius emailed him with suggestions and blueprints for a new design, which Peter used to design the Advanced Suit. Unfortunately, Fisk's warning came into fruition as a new gang emerged from the shadows onto the streets of New York, calling themselves The Demons. The Demons terrorized the city with random acts of violence and suffering, though it was unclear to both the police and Peter what their motive was.

Meanwhile, Peter continued to work with Dr. Octavius, who was developing advanced prosthetic limbs, but they continued to face various challenges and failed to construct a functional prototype for a grant committee, which was not pleased by the lack of a prototype or the safety regulations Octavius and Peter had to disregard while constructing the limbs. Disheartened and frustrated, Octavius let Peter off early, who visited the F.E.A.S.T. shelter to help Li surprise his Aunt May with a celebration of her five years of working there.

It soon became clear that the Demons were trying to seize all of Fisk's former assets and become the new crime lords in the city, though still without an obvious goal. Peter began to confront the gang head-on as Spider-Man, but realized that they possessed weapons that allowed them to utilize some kind of powerful energy, making them more difficult to fight back against. Peter raced to one of Fisk's former auction houses as Spider-Man after getting an alert of a break-in, but realized that the demons had arrived first. On the process of dispatching the Demons, Peter stumbled into Mary Jane, who was trapped there after visiting the auction house under false pretenses to get information for a story on Fisk. In the process, she found a file on something called Devil's Breath, which the demons were looking for. She offered it to him for further uncovering the Demons' plans. Peter and Mary Jane formed a partnership to investigate the Demons together, while struggling with their feelings for each other.

Meanwhile, the Demons continued to attack all of Fisk's former holdings and properties, many of which were still protected by his men. Peter began to fear that a gang war was going to erupt if something was not done to stop the two gangs from clashing. He won several victories against the Demons with the help of police officer Jefferson Davis. Peter later attended an reelection rally for the Mayor Norman Osborn, who had recently used his authority to cut funding to Dr. Octavius' research and seized his assets, shutting down his engineering of the prosthetic arm out of spite for Otto, who broke away from Oscorp Industries after Osborn began experimenting unsafely with questionable biochemical substances.

The reelection rally was attacked by Demons with suicide bombers, who killed and injured several civilians as an act of war against Mayor Osborn. Peter was knocked out by one of the explosions, preventing him from jumping into action to help. Before he was hit by the blast, however, Peter witnessed Li leading the attack as his alter ego Mister Negative. One of the casualties of the bombing was Davis himself, who died protecting another civilian from the blast.

At Davis' funeral, Peter met the former's son, Miles Morales, and tried to talk to him since he also knew the pain of losing a father figure to violence. However, Miles rudely ignored his words. In order to help him find a way to channel his grief in a productive manner, Peter decided to ask May to talk to Miles' mother in order to get him to work at F.E.A.S.T. At the same time, Osborn hired mercenary Silver Sable and her team to protect the city from the Demons. Sable consistently made things more difficult for Peter (as Spider-Man) because she didn't trust him. Despite this, Peter continued to pursue Mister Negative and the Demons and ultimately discovered that Devil's Breath, the file Mary Jane managed to steal and transfer to Peter, was a bio-weapon which Osborn himself inadvertently created while searching for a universal cure to genetic defects and diseases. He discovered that Li and the Demons planned to release the bio-weapon on the city as revenge against Osborn.

Li (as Mister Negative) went to Grand Central Station to deploy the bio-weapon, planning to release it where it could be widely transferred, but his plans were foiled by the combined efforts of Spider-Man and Mary Jane. Peter tracked Li into the subway, where he managed to subdue him. Li was arrested and sent to the Raft with the rest of Spider-Man's rogues gallery. Octavius meanwhile had become increasingly obsessed with building the prosthetic arms, even without funding, but Peter worried that the neural implant chip Octavius was using was altering his mind in negative ways. In spite of this, Octavius continued to use the chip in Peter's absence, which made him increasingly erratic.

Octavius later attacked both Ryker's Island and the Raft under the new guise of Doctor Octopus and his new arms. He released all the prisoners, including Rhino, Vulture, Scorpion, Electro and Mister Negative, with whom he formed the Sinister Six. After stealing Devil's Breath, Octavius released it in Times Square, where it infected hundreds of thousands of people. The virus spread, and ultimately infected Aunt May as well. Between the viral outbreak and the prisoner escape, New York fell into complete chaos and Osborn declared martial law, using Sable's police force as the prevailing reinforcement. Spider-Man was also blamed for the breakout, making him a priority target for Sable.

Peter continued to act as Spider-Man, however, rounding up Electro, Vulture, Scorpion, and Rhino, as well as the escaped prisoners. Mary Jane searched for the cure to Devil's Breath at the same time, and found that it was originally meant as a cure to Peter and Mary Jane's mutual friend Harry Osborn's terminal illness. The cure was tested first on Li, giving him his powers. However, after he accidentally killed his parents with his powers, Li sparked a grudge against Osborn. Peter was informed of the cure's location by Mary Jane and he hurried to the lab, after convincing Sable of his trustworthiness, and managed to stop Li from destroying the cure, defeating him. Doctor Octopus suddenly attacked the lab and seized both the cure and Osborn, critically wounding Peter in the process.

Left with no other choice, Peter returned to Octavius' former lab and constructed a suit meant to combat Doctor Octopus and pursued his former mentor. Doctor Octopus revealed he knew Peter was Spider-Man all along. Broken and disappointed, Peter managed to defeat Doctor Octopus after a long battle and saved both Osborn and the cure. The amount of cure Peter recovered, however, was not enough to distribute to the whole city. He was left to make the heartbreaking choice between saving Aunt May, who was terminally ill at this point, or turning the cure over to doctors to study and reproduce the cure for the mass populace. Peter chose to save hundreds of thousands over one and shared a tearful goodbye with Aunt May, who told him she understood his choice and that she had figured out that he was Spider-Man a long time ago. She then passed away from the disease.[7]

Right after the crisis ended, Silver Sable departs from New York to rethink her life choices after the discussion she had with Spider-Man, with her team staying behind. A funeral was held for Aunt May, who was buried next to Uncle Ben. Three months later, New York had largely returned to normal and Octavius had been thrown in prison at the Raft. Peter and Mary Jane decided to rekindle their relationship. Miles later revealed to Peter that he had gained spider-like powers similar to those of Spider-Man, prompting Peter to reveal his secret identity to him.[7]

The City That Never Sleeps[]

One night, Mary Jane called Peter, telling him that she received reports that apparently someone is trying to break into the MMoCA museum after the "Maria", a famous painting known to have been stolen many times throughout its history and owned by one of the leaders of the Maggia. Arriving at the place, Peter discovered that some goons sent by his old foe Hammerhead were the ones trying to steal the painting. After defeating all of the henchmen, Peter was surprised to see again Black Cat, who had gone back to her criminal way of life, and had also infiltrated the museum after the "Maria". However to his surprise she broke the "Maria" in half revealing that she was in fact after a data drive hidden within it and made her escape.

The Black Cat is back

Suddenly, a gang wars between the Maggia families erupted in the city, one of which she orchestrated to distract Spider-Man as she attempted to steal the second drive from the Cicero family. When Spider-Man arrived at her current location, Black Cat escaped leaving him to deal with the Cicero thugs as she watched. Spider-Man requested to know what were in the drives she was stealing though Black Cat claimed she doesn't know, he then questioned why steal them for Hammerhead, she answered that if she didn't Hammerhead will kill her son and vanished via smoke grenade. Spidey was shocked to hear that she had a child and questioned if he might be the father.

Peter kept tracking down Black Cat, as she proceeded to steal more data drivers around the city. Her next target was hidden within a rare book that she stole. She handed the empty book to the Maggia thugs while she kept the drive to hand to Hammerhead. Right after Black Cat stole the forth drive, Spider-Man caught up to her wanting to talk but she quickly ran off after throwing an EMP grenade that disable his Web-Shooters, forcing him to chase after on foot through the streets. Their scuffle leads to a trains station where Felicia hops on top a train to get away but just in time for Spidey's Shooters to reboot and chase her along the tracks, Finally catching her after a while. Peter then reveals that he knows the drives together contain the money crime families pooled together and convinced her she can't trust Hammerhead as he will still kill her son once she hands him the last drive, and that she can still count on him. Felicia agreed to stall them for a few days max while he assists in finding the child.

Sometime later, Peter called Felicia claiming to know where the Vault keeping her son could be located, pinpointing a harbor on the Hudson River that was used by the Maggia as storage, claiming that Hammerhead could have left her son there. Together, both worked in taking out all of Hammerhead's goons on the area via stealth attacks. After that, Spider-Man searches for the kid only to find Sable equipment as more Maggia goons arrived with Sable trucks to attack him with. After defeating the goons alone, he attempted to contact Felicia but got no response. Worried, Peter made his way to the vault, only to discover that Black Cat tricked him by locking him up inside, revealing she never had a son and in fact, only used him to be able to steal the last data drive from the vault to obtain all of the wealth of the Maggia for herself, as she only handed Hammerhead fake drives. Cat then made her exit as more of Hammerhead's goons approached. As the goons entered the place, opening the safe to see if the data drive was still there. Noticing the lack of the drive, the goons were directed by Hammerhead himself to hunt down and kill Black Cat, with Hammerhead planning to bomb her apartment. Spider-Man, who was hidden in the place, overheard the conversation and tried to warn Felicia that the last drive had a tracker and she was about to be killed. Worried that she could die at any minute, Spider-Man rushed through the city only to reach her apartment as it is bombed by the Maggia, with Black Cat apparently dying while stepping in. Unbeknownst to Spider-Man, Felicia survived, disappearing on a smoke cloud shortly before the explosion, further prof in the fact that no corpse was found in the fire.

Days later, gang war on the city got even worse, as every family clashed against each other and the police. Spider-Man, alongside Captain Yuri Watanabe discovered that one of Hammerhead's bases was located on the abandoned Harlem Sanatorium, with a great chance of Hammerhead himself being at the locale. Both infiltrated the location alongside a S.W.A.T team, with Spider-Man staying behind to distract Hammerhead's reinforcements. Unfortunately, Yuri and her team were caught by Hammerhead himself, who slaughtered the entire team, with Yuri coming out as the sole survivor, thanks to Peter's intervention. This left Yuri deeply traumatized, vowing revenge on Hammerhead.

Later Peter discovered that Hammerhead was planning to capture the other five Dons of Maggia to kill them while transmitting this to the whole city. He also discovered that Hammerhead was after something called "Project Olympus". To ensure that Hammerhead won't kidnap the Maggia leaders, Peter started working alongside the police to keep them safe, but Hammerhead still managed to abduct all of them, taking them to be cemented on a construction site. Spider-Man discovered this and went there to save the leaders. Peter managed to save them, but encountered Hammerhead himself once more, now wearing an enhanced exoskeleton that he stole from Sable International. Peter managed to defeat Hammerhead, but was interrupted by Yuri, who proceeded to shoot Hammerhead dead. Unbeknownst to him, Hammerhead wa still alive, being reanimated by one of his goons that was disguised as a paramedic.

Days later, Peter and MJ discovered that not only Hammerhead was still alive and hiding, but he was also looking for more Sable International technology and weapons to arm his mafia. This culminated with the return of Silver Sable herself to New York City. Sable discovered that Hammerhead was stealing from her, and wanted to kill him herself because of that. Peter acknowledged this, and tried to convince her to work with him to take down Hammerhead instead of killing him. Sable agreed, but unbeknownst to Peter, she secretly put a tracker on his suit so she can track him down as he discovered more about Hammerhead's whereabouts. She eventually discovered through Peter that Hammerhead was planning to meet her at the top of the Colexco Building in Midtown. Sensing that she could be in danger, Peter decided to follow Sable through the city trying to stop her, but his efforts were in vain as Sable was caught on a trap orchestrated by Hammerhead. After fighting together against Hammerhead's goons, Hammerhead himself appeared, but now completely transformed on a cyborg by the Project Olympus. Both Spider-Man and Sable clashed against him on an epic battle over Park Avenue, but they were no match for Hammerhead, who tried to kill Peter by pushing him against the hoverjet's engine. Suddenly, Black Cat appeared again and saved Peter by grabbing him away from the scene. Together, Peter and Felicia reunited, with Felicia apologizing for everything she had done. Before she departed, she gave Peter one of the data drives from before, claiming that it contained information on how to stop Hammerhead once and for all.

Later Peter discovered that Hammerhead abducted Sable and goes to save her, tracking her down to the sewers. There, Peter fount out that Hammerhead was using the sewers and abandoned metro stations to store stolen Sable technology and weapons. He eventually found Sable being tortured by one of Hammerhead's goons. After saving her, they again agreed to help each other against Hammerhead, but not before fighting off a horde of goons that were on the hideout. After that, Sable and Spider-Man used a computer terminal to check the data from the pen drive that Felicia gave Peter earlier, discovering that to defeat Hammerhead, they would need to melt down his steel forehead with massive heat. Together, they went to Sable's secret New York base on the Hudson River where she claimed to have the necessary apparatus to defeat Hammerhead. Arriving there, Peter helped Sable to set a powerful laser on one of her hoverjets, so they can use it against Hammerhead. Suddenly, Hammerhead appeared, with Spider-Man fighting him on the ground while Sable used the laser directly on his forehead. After a long fight, Sable managed to defeat Hammerhead by crashing her hoverjet directly on him. She then bid farewell to Peter, but not before giving him a ride back to Manhattan.

Peter about to teach Miles how to webswing for the first time

Days later, after many requests from Miles, Peter finally decided to teach him how to be a Spider-Man on the field. Fetching for Miles a mask and a pair of Web-Shooters, Peter took him to the top of the Chrysler Building, with his first lesson being how to webswing for the first time.[7]

Spider-Geddon[]

A few months into Miles' training, during a fight against the Tarantula who was robbing a bank in the Financial District, Peter was approached by the Otto Octavius of the Prime Marvel Universe, who in his home reality also sported the moniker of Spider-Man. Octavius requested Peter's presence in a new Superior Spider-Army being reassembled to defeat the returned Inheritors. Before accepting Octavius' solicitation, Peter asked his help to capture Tarantula. Following the villain's defeat, both arachnid heroes shared a moment of familiarity, which stemmed from Peter's admiration for the version of Octavius from his world, and at Octavius' request, Peter showed him footage of his counterpart. Before departing from his home reality, Peter visited both Miles and MJ. Octavius suggested recruiting Miles as well, but Peter opposed the idea, arguing that his protege was too young to come along, and that in case he didn't come back, he needed to know that his world would still have a Spider-Man.[9]

Peter and the other Spider-Totems

They both have gone to recruit the Spider-Man of Earth-51778, but having to take down a Giant-Monster using the Sword Vigor. Later, all the Superior Spider-Army was assembled. Ben Reilly, a clone from Earth-616's Spider-Man, revealed himself to to them offered his help since he created the cloning technology of New U, the tech used by the Inheritors to make their return. When the Miles Morales of a dead (later revived) universe contacted Otto saying they would attack the Inheritors, who were planning to revive Solus, their father, using the New U Tech, right at the Transamerica Pyramid, where New U once operated. Peter and other Spiders rescued their comrades, eventually ending up in another world.[10]

Peter interacted with Miles Morales and a Mary Jane from another universe who married with her Peter Parker, who suggested to not let his Mary Jane go in case she is anything like his Mary Jane. They were approached by Spider-Punk who brought them back to their base. In there, Superior Spider-Man and Spider-Nor-Man, an alternate version of Norman Osborn, had a discussion since he was questioning Otto's leadership and criticizing the Spiders for putting their hopes on a Deus Ex Machina. Because of this, both he and Spiders-Man separated of the team and he declared he would think in a plan, but he was actually going to destroy the Web of Life and Destiny, stopping the travel between dimensions.[11]

Ben Reilly decided to offer himself to the Inheritors, since the one who would consume him would be Jennix, the "scientist" of the family, who would absorb his knowledge, and because of the many times he died and was resurrected, it would destroy his maniacal mind. Otto would pretend he double crossed Ben and give him to the Inheritors to leave his world alone. The plan have seemed to work but Otto couldn't leave in time because Peter followed them and believed all the plan was true. Upon Ben being consumed, they attacked Peter and Otto, who apologized for not being the man Peter thought he was, but that perhaps he could something close. Peter said he couldn't control Otto actions, only what he do, which fight the Inheritors. When Solus, now revived, was about to consume them, Miles Morales, now with the power of the Captain Universe, stopped him and they begun to fight. During the final battle between the Inheritors and spiders, many Spider-People from across the Multiverse to help them, including Earth-616's Peter Parker, who ordered the Spider-People to follow Otto's lead, which meant Miles kill Solus, something he did with the Sword Vigor. Upon realizing Solus planted the hunger in his sons, they used the cloning technology to create baby bodies to them and free them from their hunger. The plan worked and Peter returned to his universe, saying to Otto that unlike his Otto, in the end, he did the right thing and that the guy Peter thought he was, he could actually be him if he tries, and told him to take care.[12]

Working Vacation[]

Sometime after his last encounter with Hammerhead and about a year following his battle with Doctor Octavius, Peter was training with Miles, who had since become an active Spider-Man himself. They were unofficially going to oversee a convoy transporting several Raft prisoners, including an unknown super-powered one, when one of the cables keeping the holding cell attached to the transport vehicle began to fray. Fearing for its integrity, Miles attempted to secure it using his webbing but landed on the side of the holding cell and offset the balance, causing the cable to snap and his webs to tear. This brought the transport vehicle out of the sky and caused a massive crash on the street below, releasing several of the Raft prisoners and the super-powered prisoner, none other than Rhino. While Miles attended to the freed Raft prisoners, Peter went after Rhino and ended up crashing through a mall and several other buildings while attempting to bring him down. The two met up again while trying to bring the behemoth to a stop, but failed to keep him from running headlong into a giant tank of pressurized flammable gas, setting off an explosion that injured both Spider-Men and decimated a building complex belonging to the energy company Roxxon. While Miles regained his bearings, Peter continued to try and tackle Rhino, but eventually was worn down and called to Miles for help. By the time Miles had arrived, however, Peter had been beaten to within an inch of his life. Despite his warnings to Miles to run, Miles successfully took down Rhino with an bioelectric blast that neither Spider-Man knew he had. Afterward, both heroes were greeted by Roxxon executive Simon Krieger, who commended them on their work and told them he and the police would handle Rhino.

Despite Miles' desire to stick around and oversee Rhino's transport to the Raft, Peter insisted that they should get out of the way. The two shared a pizza on a rooftop, where Peter gave Miles a gift, a new Spider-suit designed just for him, and told him that to be Spider-Man, he had to take an oath to do everything in his power to protect the city they called home. Miles agreed, and then excitedly appealed to Peter that they should test Miles' new bio-electric abilities, to which Peter replied that he would be out of town for the next few weeks helping Mary Jane in Symkaria as her personal photographer. While Miles seemed hesitant about this, Peter insisted that he was ready to be New York's only Spider-Man for a little while. He then bid Miles adieu and left. At some point during his training exercises with Miles, Peter had also recorded a series of holographic training exercises to help his protégé learn the ropes.

While away in Symkaria, Peter received news of a Braithwaite Bridge in New York exploding and instantly called Miles to make sure everything was okay, offering to get on a flight and return to New York immediately if needed, but Miles assured him it was no big deal and that he could handle it. After their time in Symkaria, Peter returned to New York and met back up with Miles, admiring his new suit which he had designed for himself. Upon hearing police sirens, the two raced into action together.[5]

Multiversal Adventures[]

End of the Spider Verse[]

During Shathra's reign, Peter was converted and absorbed into her Hive along with almost every other Spider in the Multiverse.[13] He was among those sent by Shathra to intercept Earth-616's Peter Parker, Araña, and Night Spider in a temple of Earth-616's Delvadia.[14][15] All of Shathra's victims were eventually released when Silk slashed Morlun with the Totem Dagger. All Spiders were thrown into Earth-616, where they dealt a combined defeat to Shathra.[16]

On the Spot[]

Sometime later, Peter would be met by The Spot of Earth-616 who Peter presumably tried to stop, however Ohnn not wanting to fight Peter and knowing this one didn't know him as much as his did offered Peter the deal of helping him go back in time to fix any mistake he made if he helped the Spot when he asked for it. Peter still deeply mourning Aunt May accepted, hoping that after Spot was done. Spot then proceeded to go to another reality grab a version of himself and give that version powers. Ohnn told Peter he'd be back and for now wanted to give Peter time to think on his decision before leaving with his alternate self into another universe.[17]

When Spot of Earth-616 was fighting his world's Spider-Man, Spot summoned Peter to fight and defeat his counterpart as a distraction so he could complete his goal. Peter using his Web-Shooters shocked his 616 counterpart, who in turn used one of Peter's own devices on him, however due to Peter having created the device he deactivated it and the two ran out onto the street as they continued to fight. However when they discovered other citizens were out an about and nearly put two citizens' lives in danger with their fight, they decided to move it to the roof. Peter thanked his 616 counterpart for agreeing to move the fight and 616-Spider-Man asked Peter if he could repay him by not fighting which Peter disagreed with due to what Ohnn had offered him.[18][19][17]

616 Spider-Man was disgusted by how Peter was willing to work with Ohnn and scolded him for it mentioning Uncle Ben and Aunt May. However at the mention of May, Peter snapped and nearly smashed his 616 counterpart into the roof telling him not to mention May before telling his 616 counterpart that he wouldn't understand due to Peter's May being dead. 616-Spider-Man realizing that Peter was right and that he didn't understand decided to chat with him so that he could understand, so Peter filled 616-Spider-Man in on the events that led up May's death on his world which 616-Spider-Man understood. The two then headed to the F.E.A.S.T. center where they witnessed Earth-616's May working at the center to help people, Peter mentioned how on his world after May's death the center was renamed to the May Parker foundation.[17]

The two Spider-Men then bonded over May's kindness and how she would be the last one to want a foundation named after her. Peter then let slip that he and MJ were dating to which 616-Spider-Man let slip that him and his MJ were not, Peter was at first surprised that 616 had messed up with MJ but remembering how he at one point also messed up instead offered some advice which 616-Spider-Man temporarily rejected. 616-Spider-Man then filled Peter in on The Spot's plan and realizing he had been duped, Peter cursed himself for falling for Spot's plan which 616-Spider-Man comforted him over. The two then went to Avengers' Tower to upgrade the Multiversal Energy Tracker given to 616-Spider-Man by Doctor Doom, there they realized their similarities and differences and bonded over them before heading to Saint Patrick's Cathedral where Cloak temporarily handed over his abilities to upgrade the tracker, afterward the 2 headed into another reality.[17]

The 2 arrived on Earth-691 where they found The Spot of this reality dead, shortly after finding the corpse of this Spot they were attacked by the Skorpsmen who with the help of Killraven they defeated. Upon seeing this reality, Peter was horrified as it was a post-apocalyptic wasteland, 616-Spider-Man explained that in this reality Martians had attacked and destroyed earth. Thinking of Miles and MJ he asked if it was possible to see if they existed in this reality and 616-Spider-Man informed him they had likely never even been born due to the attack having taken place in 2001. Peter asked if perhaps a version of Uncle Ben and Aunt May existed in this world but 616-Spider-Man explained that if they did it would be nearly impossible to find any records. After having calmed down a bit, Peter apologized to Killraven for freaking out but Killraven told him that caring was never something to apologize for and not caring means having given up.[20]

As 616 and Peter prepared to leave, Peter remarked how he believed this to be possibly the worst alternate reality he'd ever seen, 616 told Peter that he would have to be more experienced before he decided that. The two then arrived in a world alternate to Peter's known as Earth-1053, in this reality, Peter had allowed Doctor Octopus to put the neural link on him causing both to go insane and take over their world. 1053-Spider-Man explained to Peter what happened to his visitation by the Spot and how the Spot had both helped them cure the world of all disease via Martin Li's Darkforce abilities and warned them that Peter and 616-Spider-Man would be arriving, Peter remarked to his alternate self how he had won without any of that only to be haunted by this reality's version of Aunt May.[20]

616-Spider-Man saw this as the time to get out of here, Peter tried to convince him to go back feeling guilty but 616-Spider-Man explained to him that no matter what they try, he'd met evil versions of them and they never listen. The two then arrived on what appeared to be a version of Larval Earth, when Peter asked where they were, 616-Spider-Man explained they were in the domain of Spider-Ham and therefore could not be injured, however as he said this the two felt their spider-sense go off as Hog-zilla nearly crushed the two with the two making a comment on their "Parker Luck". The two tried to defeat Hog-zilla but failed fortunately Spider-Ham and the Scavengers showed up to fight off the creature, the two then fled into another universe, a universe 616-Spider-Man claimed to have used to hide from the Inheritors at one point. This universe appeared to be void of any people with super-abilities and a guy walking by them did not even recognize who they were dressed up as.[21]

The two then noticed their alternate counterpart who they sat down next to and asked how he became homeless, alternate Peter explained that one a day a Burglar came in and alternate Peter tried to defend his family but his knee got injured. As a result Uncle Ben jumped in front getting killed in the process, alternate Peter's medical bills took their toll on the family and despite promising to Aunt May he'd get a job to pay it all off, his knee hurt too much and he eventually dropped out sending money to her as much as he could with May moving in with the Watsons. 616-Spider-Man and Peter feeling bad for their homeless alternate counterpart gave him some money but advised him to visit May as even though he felt ashamed for not fulfilling his promise she wouldn't care and would just want to see him. 616-Spider-Man and Peter then bonded over this remembering that it wasn't their abilities that led to Ben's death just not using them, Peter then swore for all the mental trauma Spot was putting him through he was going to take him down no matter the cost.[21]

Spider-Man and Spider-Man meet Peter Parker

The two then went back into the Multiverse where they met three evil versions of themselves from 3 different universes. In one such universe Spider-Man had found a cape that corrupted him and lead him to turn evil, this Spider-Man attempted to kill Peter and 616-Spider-Man who then fled into another reality. In this reality Spider-Man gained Loki's helmet and the Infinity Gauntlet with all 6 Infinity Stones corrupting him, this Spider-Man also attempted to kill Peter and 616-Spider-Man who fled into yet another reality. In this reality Spider-Man gained the Cloak of Levitation which also strangely corrupted him and caused him to turn evil and he tried to kill Peter and 616-Spider-Man who fled into the Multiverse, Peter was disappointed with all their evil variants as he thought of himself as a good person.[22]

616-Spider-Man told Peter not to fret over it as in the realities they visited so far, their counterparts were either corrupted by a super villain or some magical artifact and they should only worry if say they came upon a variant who was just born that way. The two then arrived in yet another universe, Peter remarked how he noticed that none of their evil variants had a happy life or family and that he's thankful to have MJ, Miles, and his mortgaged house. 616-Spider-Man jokingly mad a jab at how jealous he was of Peter before announcing that according to the Multiversal Energy Tracker, 616-Ohnn was there as well, excited Peter stated they should go and get him which 616-Spider-Man agreed. As the two Spider-Man finally arrived, the alternate reality Spot was preparing to kill 616-Spot instead of the other way around, however the 2 went to assist 616-Spot anyway with the alternate Spot remarking that they made it easier for him instead of having hunt them down.[22]

Surface Tension[]

Peter eventually took up teaching science as a new career. After substituting for a while, he got a job at Brooklyn Visions Academy, where Miles was also a student.

On his first day at the Academy, Peter arrived late to teaching a physics lesson. Upon arriving, he started lecturing about surface tension when Miles asked to leave to use the bathroom. Peter, knowing it was to go and fight crime as Spider-Man allow him to. However, Miles returned, insisting Peter come help him. Relenting, Peter abandoned the lesson to help Miles fight Sandman, commenting he would be fired from teaching for doing so. The pair then dealt with Sandman, who was wreaking havoc in New York, leaving it entirely covered in sand. After handling the Sandman attack, Peter returned to the school, where Principal Evans fired him for disappearing and leaving the students unsupervised.

Peter returned home, where MJ arrived to store copies of her book on Symkaria that poorly solved before he started to clean up and found an old photo of him standing next to a hole in the wall he punched and two drawn eyes, eventually finding it in his old room. As MJ was about to find out which two prisoners from the Raft would be transferred, they came across Harry, whom they hadn't seen since he left for his "trip".

Peter and Harry then rode two bikes to catch up while MJ headed to work. Harry revealed he was now well thanks to an exosuit he was wearing that Dr. Curt Connors created and took Peter back into Midtown High, reminiscing how they had done so years before. While sitting on the bleachers, Harry showed him the object in Peter's old locker was a pass to a company called the Emily-May Foundation and revealed he wanted Peter to join it as a co-founder. After Harry gives him a tour of the company, and lets Norman Osborn know about the offer, he accepts.

Symbiotic Relationship[]

Suffer the Villains[]

Sometime later, Peter and Miles went to overlook the transfer of the two prisoners, Scorpion and Mister Negative, the latter's presence angering Miles before Peter told his protégé to focus. Suddenly, while en route to Ravencroft, the Hunters attacked the convoy, and abducted the prisoners while the Spider-Men saved nearby bystanders from harm.

That night, Peter joins MJ and Harry for a visit to the fair at Coney Island. He introduces Miles and Ganke to Harry and then spends time alone with MJ on the Ferris wheel, discussing her report for the Daily Bugle. However, Hunters interrupt them as they arrive to kidnap Tombstone, who was now working in go-kart maintenance. Peter, as Spider-Man, intervenes but prioritizes saving civilians in danger on a damaged roller coaster, allowing the Hunters to escape with Tombstone. However, Peter struggles to rescue the civilians until Harry arrived, revealing the exosuit granted him powerful tentacles that he used to help Peter save them. coming out of him, which he later said was part of an exosuit that cured him.

In shock, Peter swings Harry to safety and reveals his identity to him. The pair decide to head to the foundation to research Harry’s exosuit to determine what else it can do. By morning, Norman discovers them and the damage they have done from their experimenting. Norman also informs them that Dr. Connors is mysteriously absent.

Taking leave, Peter learns of Tombstone's whereabouts and goes to rescue him. During the process, he is assisted by Harry, manifesting the exosuit as a hybrid of a Spider-Man suit and tactical armor. Despite Harry's callowness in crime-fighting, they manage to rescue Tombstone before congratulating themselves on the rooftops. Harry's exosuit reacts when they attempt a fist-bump, manifesting a spider symbol, but they simply brush it off as Harry wanting to be like Spider-Man.

MJ discovers Connors has been kidnapped by Kraven and informs Peter of this. Peter and Harry arrive at Kraven's base at an abandoned zoo, but they are too late to stop Kraven from turning Connors back into the Lizard. As the Lizard escapes, Kraven fatally stabs Peter in the abdomen. MJ and Harry grieve for Peter, but suddenly, Harry's exosuit transfers itself to Peter, healing him and transforming itself into the Black Suit. A more aggressive Peter fends off Kraven's minions, buying time for Harry and MJ retreat to the EMF.

Peter bonded to the exosuit

Peter returns to the EMF to discover that without the exosuit, Harry's illness is slowly returning. He tries to return the exosuit, only to find it is unwilling to leave its new host. Their only hope is to restore Connors to normal so he can remove the exosuit, though Kraven has the serum.

To retrieve the Lizard serum, Peter infiltrates a party Kraven and his minions are having, using the Black Suit to disguise himself as a waiter. After succeeding in retrieving the serum, he and Harry use it to synthesize an antiserum to cure Connors, though the EMF is damaged in the process due to the Hunters tracking Peter down. With Miles's help, Peter tracks down the Lizard and eventually restores Connors to normal. Connors, recognizing the Black Suit, explains it is in fact an alien symbiote and shows him the meteorite it came from. The symbiote reacts by evolving into the Symbiote Suit, further corrupting Peter. Connors insists on destroying the symbiote, but Peter claims it for himself, insisting he needs it to become a better Spider-Man.

Peter falls deeper under the symbiote's control

Peter retreats back to Aunt May's house to rest, ignoring MJ's warnings on the property damage during his fight with the Lizard. As he sleeps, Kraven's Hunters arrive, and the symbiote puppeteers his body to fight them off. Concerned for Peter's safety, MJ attempts to wake Peter up with Miles's help, but the symbiote pursues her, only to flee while Kraven's forces kidnap Miles.

On the following day, Peter woke up feeling disoriented, unsure of what had happened to the symbiote during the night. He was still struggling with the influence of the symbiote's corruption, which caused him to show rejection towards Harry and MJ when they read his report in the Daily Bugle. Later on, he ran into Norman, who expressed his gratitude towards Peter for being Harry's friend and even mentioned that he considered him like a son. However, Harry overheard their conversation and felt angry towards Peter due to his father's remarks. Rio Morales contacted Peter to help find Miles, who had gone missing.

On his way to locate Miles, Martin Li, who had been freed earlier by Miles, intercepted Peter and told him where he could find him. When he eventually found Miles, Peter confronted Kraven, who had been hired to hunt Miles down. During their altercation, Kraven instilled more hatred towards Peter, causing the symbiote to influence him even more. Just as Peter was about to kill Kraven, Miles intervened, and confronted him in an attempt to prevent him from killing the hunter. Using the sounds of a bell, Miles managed to reason with Peter, and helped him regain control of his actions. Peter then proceeded to tear the symbiote from his suit, freeing himself from its influence. Miles captured the symbiote in a small container, ensuring that it would no longer pose a threat to anyone else.

Clash of the Spider-Men

After he left Kraven's hideout, Peter regretted his actions under the symbiote's influence. On Connors' order, Peter brought the symbiote back to Oscorp to destroy it. However, upon entering, Peter discovered that a sick, drug addled Harry was already there. Harry tried to attack him as he was about to destroy the symbiote that was going to keep him alive. The symbiote broke free from its container, sending Peter into a nearby wall, then rebonded with Harry Osborn, transforming him into a full-blown cannibalistic monster known as Venom. Harry knocked out Peter, rampaged through Oscorp, devastated hunters, and killed Kraven.

Web of Shadows[]

The Symbiote Invasion Begins[]

A day later following Venom's rampage in New York, Peter, who escaped the rubble inside Oscorp, began searching for Harry. He found Harry's Oscorp badge left behind while he was escaping and used it as a way to search for him by using Oscorp's antenna. Peter was able to locate where Harry was, as he found Harry's EMF badge that was stuck to some symbiote tendrils. He came to check if Harry was still here. However, he realized that Venom already kidnapped and infected a citizen, who attacked him. Peter was able to knock out and separate the symbiotes off these innocent citizens. Realizing that Harry, in control of Venom, start using his symbiotes to infecting people, Peter called Miles help and they recreated Kraven's bell and created sonic grenades that can stun the symbiotes.

After successfully experimented sonic grenade, the two arrive to subway station to rescue Rio and Ganke. They later saw Venom converting citizens to symbiote, which the latter found out and briefly attacked them and flee away. Peter and Miles then entering inside subway station, using sonic grenade attached to a spawned nest and the two defending sonic grenade integrity while it synchronizing. After that, the spawned symbiote nest has destroyed and the two successfully rescued Rio and Ganke.

Scream[]

After that, Peter continued to find Harry while Miles was getting his mom and his roommate back to his home safely. Peter call MJ and warned her about Harry got the symbiote back, but unfortunately, Venom visited and pretended to be Harry and held her captive. This forced Peter return to his home and while swinging back to home, Connors phoned and warned him about some remnants of Venom symbiote are still inside him and asked him to come for check, but Peter refused.

Peter then returned to home and Harry, in control of Venom, tried to persuade him to join him. However when he refused and insulted the symbiote by called it a "thing", Harry transformed back to Venom and he attached Scream symbiote to MJ and flee away for his further plans. The Scream symbiote exploited her host's repress frustrations to fight Peter until MJ resisted and regained control over Scream symbiote and removed the symbiote, killing it in process. MJ, after removing the Scream symbiote, told Peter that while she was becoming Scream, she got into symbiote hivemind and saw a vision of a "rock", implying the meteorite that brought Venom here. Peter then got a call from Miles that the symbiote invasion continued to expand into City Hall and there were some trapped people inside. Before he went to City Hall, Peter gave MJ a kiss.

Birth of Anti-Venom[]

Peter and Miles arrived at City Hall, where the place was now infested by Venom's symbiote army. The two battled the symbiote army and found the emergency exit at City Hall. As Peter was opening the exit, unfortunately, Ganke called and told the Spider-Men before that the symbiote tendrils broke a window inside and already transformed trapped people into a horde of symbiotes, which attacked Peter and Miles and threw Peter, who previously had remnants of Venom symbiote inside him, to take over him once more into the aggressive form. Martin Li eventually arrived and used his negative powers to create a shield that temporary hold the symbiotes at bay. Miles and Li noticed that Li's negative power accidentally triggered a response from the remaining symbiote inside Peter that caused him to be more painful. Miles and Li decided to team up and they went into Peter's head to find the main source of his pain. They reached to the symbiote core, where it represent "the true source" of his pain, and they combined their power together, with Li sacrificed his power to destroy the core for good.

Spider-Man becoming Anti-Venom

Miles Morales and the now depowered Martin Li went back to the reality and saw Peter remain unconscious, while the symbiotes have already surrounded them. Suddenly, Peter wake up and a new white symbiote dubbed Anti-Venom emerged from his body, which is a result of the fusion between Mister Negative's Lightforce and the remnants of Venom symbiote. Peter used the Anti-Venom symbiote to take on the symbiote hordes, and because of Li's powers, the suit is non-sentient and free from the hivemind, and can vaporize the symbiotes by its touch.

Peter then thank to Li and Miles for saving him, in turn, Li thanks the Spider-Men for reminding him of the person he was prior to his crusade for vengeance, echoing May's philosophy of "When you help someone, you help everyone." Now at peace with himself for the first time in years, Li sets off on a new path, promising to the Spider-Men to "set things right, your way this time." Seeing Li turn himself into the authorities, Peter praised Miles for his maturity and reforming his greatest enemy, stating that he couldn't say he had done that.

Heal the World[]

Peter arrived at Connors' secret lab where Venom found and merged the last part of the meteorite as a mean to enhancing his power and infecting New York further. Peter and Miles split up in order to locate where the meteorite is. While Miles was going to clear the nest, Peter arrived at Harlem subway station after Miles told him that he got into the symbiote hivemind and saw the vision of the meteorite that was possibly located in here. However, when Peter entered, he didn't see any "rock" and Venom ambushed him, pretending to be Harry and showed Peter the vision of his future dark turn, plus showing the real location of meteorite, which was located on his lair. However, Miles arrived and freed Peter. Following that, Peter said to Miles that he know where the meteorite located and call MJ.

Peter, Miles and MJ devised a plan to retrieve the meteorite and destroy it using the EMF's particle accelerator. Peter engaged Venom in a fight in order to distract it, but as soon as Venom noticed the meteorite being stolen, Venom defeated Peter and brought him to Emily-May, where it also faced Miles. Several times Harry tried to escape but the symbiote always engulfed him. In a climactic fight, Peter managed to burn it away with his new Anti-Venom symbiote; at the same time, the particle accelerator destroyed the meteorite and the symbiotes along with it.

Spider Society[]

Ganke Lee detected several odd frequencies across New York City and asked the Spider-Men to investigate. They found numerous Spider-Bots that Peter and Miles didn't create. After collecting all the mysterious Spider-Bots, Ganke noticed a strange reality distortion.[1]

Finding the Spider-Bots

Arriving at the scene, the spiders found a portal that opened to a different Bar with No Name. The bartender, Delilah, opened her briefcase and pulled the Spider-Bots into the container. She told them to inform Miguel finders keepers, confusing Peter and Miles.[1]

Peter would later meet Miguel, who was actually the Spider-Man of Earth-928B. He recruited Peter into the Spider Society, a multiversal group of spiders created to deal with the cracks in space and time due to the machinations of the Kingpin of Earth-1610B.[3]

Spider-Man was present at the base of the Spider Society when the Miles Morales of Earth-1610B. He was first seen by Miles in the lobby conversing with another Spider-Man. Peter was later directly pointed out to Miles by LYLA alongside Videoman and Green Goblin due to their connections to video games.

Personality

Peter lives by his creed of "With great power comes great responsibility." As such, he always tries using his powers for greater good, sacrificing his mental and physical health, his personal life and relationships for the citizens of New York and the world at large. Peter is known for his sense of humor, often making quips and jokes while fighting to mask his insecurities. His humor has annoyed both allies and enemies alike to the point that even Yuri Watanabe said that she can barely tolerate him.

One distinct quality of this version of Peter is his self-confidence. Having been Spider-Man for over eight years, Peter is much more secure about his powers and abilities, as well as the path in life he wishes to take. However, he is still not immune to being beset with difficulties such as paying rent and maintaining his relationships.

Indeed, despite having permanently left Oscorp, Mary Jane Watson claimed they would hire him back in a "heartbeat" as all it took was simply just "one phone call to Harry".
    • Expert Engineer: Peter Parker is an exceptionally skilled genius engineer, a wunderkind prodigy. During his fledgling career, he was able to create personal devices like the Web-Shooter, Spider-Tracer, Spider-Signal and "Vulture Jammer". Spider-Man also used his engineering prowess to rectify his mistakes of the past to prepare for the future, such as incorporating insulation into his costume to safely combat Electro without getting electrocuted and shock-absorption defences against the Shocker, in addition to upgrading his eye lenses after scrutinizing Mysterio's sturdy helmet and defeating Rhino after examining a broken fragment of the latter's nigh-indestructible horn. As an adult, Peter's engineering skills became even that much more formidable as he (alongside Otto) invented various types of advanced spider-like gadgets to aid him in his operations, such as the Spider-Drone, Web Bombs, Trip Mine and Suspension Matrix and improved upon his Web-Shooters by integrating Electric and Impact Webbing as well as the Concussive Blast. He was also able to design and produce multiple technologically advanced suits (equipped with built-in headsets, earpieces, cameras and radios whilst remaining odor- and scent-free when wearing the suits), with finesse and ease, each perpetuating its own unique ability, owing to his expertise in material design.
