History

Origin[]

Peter's original suit.

When he was kid, Peter was left with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben when his parents died. As a teenager, still in school, Peter was bitten by a radioactive spider and discovered the superpowers it gave him. And, after failing to prevent a crime that culminated in the death of his Uncle Ben, Peter realized that becoming a superhero and protecting the innocent was his duty, because he had the power to do so, learning that with great power comes great responsibilities, becoming the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.[8]

Black Suit Saga[]

Black Suit Peter (Earth-13122)

Symbiote suit.

After attempting to repair a damaged suit, Peter was engulfed by an alien symbiote, forming a new black suit and giving him enhanced powers and abilities. Peter abandoned the symbiote in a church, where it engulfed Eddie Brock.[8]

Universe In Peril[]

Grand Central Station[]

On his way to the Daily Bugle, Spider-Man found Iron Man and the Hulk fighting the Sandman by Stark Tower, deciding to help the two. The two incapacitated Sandman by solidifying his form with water and cement. As the two villains were taken into custody, Peter returned to his everyday life.

A Work Day Interrupted[]

Peter Parker (Earth-13122) from promo 001

Peter's classic suit.

Upon Doc Octopus storming through the Daily Bugle office, Peter decided to help Captain America and Mister Fantastic pursue him. The trio pursued Doc Ock to Times Square, the three defeated him on combat, only for the brick he was holding to be retrieved by the Green Goblin.

Oscorp Visit[]

With Goblin having been tracked by Hawkeye and Black Widow to Oscorp, Spider-Man rendezvoused with them to retrieve the brick, the three were attacked by Green Goblin. The three pursued Goblin, working their way through the Oscorp labs until Goblin triggered Oscorp's security systems, shutting down various parts of the lab and turning any nearby scientists hostile against the three. After getting through the security lockdown the three engaged Goblin in combat, resulting in Goblin destroying a nearby elevator shaft to hinder their progress. The three made their way through the elevator shaft, meeting with Goblin again. However, at that point Goblin triggered a trap door, sending them down to the lower levels of Oscorp labs. Turning their attention away from Osborn and instead on escaping the lower labs, the three encountered Venom, who had manage to pervert the lower labs by infesting it with other Symbiotes, infecting both the environment and the Oscorp Scientists who worked down there. After working their way upwards, the three managed to subdue Venom by exploiting the symbiotes' weakness to sound and fire. However, the time that was wasted by their encounter with Venom gave Goblin enough time to escape with the Cosmic Brick. Their mission failed, Spider-Man then left the two to take care of his everyday life.

Another Day at the Office[]

Peter, along with much of his Social Circle, was present at the Bugle when it was cleaned up by Phil Coulson and Doctor Octopus.

A Trip to the Ocean[]

Taking a helicopter ride courtesy of S.H.I.E.L.D., Spider-Man joined Iron Man and Thor, who were faced with an A.I.M. submarine that had taken a S.H.I.E.L.D. research sub hostage. The three broke into the sub, fighting their way through various A.I.M. Agents, the three were faced with Doctor Doom. Following him, they were ambushed by M.O.D.O.K. who they defeated M.O.D.O.K. as a result of him overloading his power. After M.O.D.O.K. was defeated, Doom fled in the stolen S.H.I.E.L.D. research sub. The A.I.M. ship then began to break down and sink. The three were rescued, however, when Jean Grey arrived, immersing them in a protective forcefield. The four made their way to the stolen research sub, which was lodged on an ocean cliff due to falling debris, as Iron Man, Thor and Spider-Man protecting Jean from oncoming Doombots. Reaching the sub and making their way inside, they confronted Doctor Doom, Thor knocking him unconscious with Mjolnir and dislodging the ship in the process. Doom was not brought into S.H.I.E.L.D. custody, however, as Magneto then rescued him by controlling the Statue of Liberty. [5]

Battle with Magneto[]

Breaking out of the submarine, Jean left the three to report back to Xavier. Meanwhile Peter and Thor learnt of Asteroid M, Magneto's newly powered ship, and resolved to stop it. After Tony and Peter uncovered the Stark Jet, the three arrived at Asteroid M's hangar, where they were greeted by Magneto who locked them in the room with a group of Acolytes. Utilising the airlock to blow the door open, the three pursued Magneto. Chasing Magneto throughout the Asteroid, they eventually confronted him. Magneto proved a worthy opponent, fashioning a metal Avatar for himself and throwing all manner of objects at them. Despite this, however, the heroes were able to defeat Magneto by fashioning large objects out of debris and destroying his avatar, then defeating him in regular combat, launching Magneto back to Earth afterwards.

Battle on Asteroid M[]

He then teamed up with Captain America, Storm, and Thing to defeat Doctor Doom. The three then confronted Doom and Loki. Being supercharged by Loki's scepter, Doom blasted the three, knocking Iron Man and Thor back into the lower areas but failing to take out Spider-Man. Thing, Captain America and Storm arrived to help Spider-Man, prompting Doom and Loki to retreat to the upper levels. Fighting Magneto Acolytes and Doombots along the way, the four were able to activate an elevator to the outer corridors of the spacestation, where they were met by minions and security measures, including several security turrets. Opening a door to a joining connection bridge despite the securities' systems warnings, the quartet were sucked out into space, eventually landing back in the spacestation where they confronted Doctor Doom. With Doom channeling his newfound power into a forcefield and Loki out of reach, the team fought a wave of standard Doombots, V-Series Doombots and Magneto Acolytes before Doom channelled his powers into a laser cannon, allowing Captain America to deflect it, destroying the cannons and allowing them to fight him directly. After working through the rest of his defences, the heroes were finally able to defeat Doom, with the Thing punching him into space. After Iron Man and Thor rejoined the group Loki revealed his master plan, use the Doom Ray to take control of Galactus and have it devour Earth and Asgard. Loki demonstrated this, having Galactus destroy Asteroid M, causing the 6 heroes to crash-land on the helicarrier.

Last Stand on the Helicarrier[]

Nick Fury had all the heroes and villains team up to stop Galactus from eating the Earth. Spidey was on 'Team One' with Thing, Green Goblin and Mystique. Team One worked to repair one of the S.H.I.E.L.D. rotos, eventually directing the subsequent wind to Galactus. Eventually, the earth was saved, with Team Three summoning a Black Hole and Team Four knocking Galactus and Loki into it. As per Fury and Doom's earlier agreement, the villains were given a thirty second head-start to escape, an idea that was unintentionally sabotaged by Hulk's inability to count to three, allowing the villains to escape.[5]

Afterparty at Stark Tower[]

Celebrating their victory over Galactus, Tony Stark held a wrap party at Stark Tower. Spider-Man attended the party and, much like the other guests, found it lifeless and boring. However, Peter was able to get into the party once Tony and Rhodey were able to assemble a DJ Station, a disco ball and repair a speaker Hulk had broken.[5]

Face-Off at the Bank[]

Upon a Bank in the Downtown Financial District being attacked by Electro and Shocker, Spider-Man went to the scene with Iron Man and Captain America. After Spider-Man knocked Shocker into a bank vault Electro was able to protect himself by electrifying the water in the bank. After the heroes rescued nearby civilians, Electro engaged them directly, the team quickly defeating him. They then opened the Bank vault, where they were able to defeat Shocker. Both villains were then taken into custody.[5]

Investigating Fisk[]

With Wilson Fisk offering cheap dental checkups, Spider-Man and Captain America found someone strapped to a chair being assaulted with a laser. After freeing the man from his restraints, the duo were joined by Daredevil, causing Fisk to show himself and retaliate, sending a group of his minions, including, Elektra to take care of them. After the heroes defeated Elektra, Kingpin sent Bullseye to dispose of them, after Bullseye too was defeated, the trio forced Fisk out of his office, knocking him out with chandeliers.[5]

A Trip to the Park[]

Taking a day off in the park with Thing, Spider-Man's Spider-Sense was cut off when his Spider-Sense alerted him to danger going on in the reptile house. The two investigated the house, finding Curt Connors conducting his experiments and transforming into the Lizard as a result. Pursuing Connors throughout the lab, Thing was ultimately able to physically subdue Lizard, allowing Spider-Man to wrap him up in webbing.[5]

Hostages at Marvel[]

When Vulture and Howard the Duck held the Marvel writers hostage to gain more comic coverage, Spider-Man and Mr Fantastic arrived to deal with the situation. Working their way through the Marvel security system, the heroes confronted the duo. Howard put himself out of the equation almost immediately, knocking himself back with his rocket launcher and leaving him out of the rest of the fight, while Vulture proved more of a challenge. The two ultimately took out Vulture through a combination of traps, exploiting his bird-like instincts and placing several decoys of Avengers members, saving the Marvel writers in the process.[5]

Maximum Overload[]

At Nick Fury's request, Peter goes to a S.H.I.E.L.D. base in New Jersey to fight Doctor Otto Octavius, who was under Loki's control. Otto would be defeated electrocuted.[13] He would later be attacked by Venom, who was also under Loki's control. The two fought at the Daily Bugle, where Peter defeats him in a newspaper machine.[6] In ways unknown, Peter ends up on an Oil Drilling Platform[14] but soon he will be found by Thor and taken to Malibu, where the S.H.I.E.L.D Hellicarrier had crashed and countless villains were fleeing. Thor would soon discover that Loki was behind it all, so he, Peter and Tony go to Loki's hideout and manage to get him to release the villains from his control. After all, S.H.I.E.L.D. presented Peter with the Spider-Cycle.[7]
