Being Spider-Man has given me a lot and taken a lot away. But one thing never changes: My responsibility to use my powers for others before myself, no matter what the cost!
- —Spider-Man[src]
History
After being framed by an impostor Spider-Man, he joined Black Cat in stopping a group of robbers at a bank and freeing the hostages. Hearing J. Jonah Jameson being attacked by the Scorpion, he goes to the Daily Bugle and defeats Gargan. The cops then bust into the room, with Jameson telling them to shoot Spider-Man. When Peter is escaping, he is confronted by Daredevil and asked to tell his side of the story. Daredevil then leaves to spread word of Peter's innocence. Peter is then chased by the police but he manages to escape. Spidey then finds out that Venom has kidnapped his wife, Mary Jane Watson-Parker. Peter tells Eddie that the Spider-Man that robbed the expo was a fake, which convinces Eddie to let Mary Jane go. Eddie then helps Peter find the fake Spider-Man who is revealed to be Mysterio. Peter and Mysterio fight, with Peter learning that Carnage and Doctor Octopus were behind everything. Peter defeats both Doc Ock and Carnage, before Carnage bonds with Doc Ock, forming Monster Ock. Monster Ock chases Spider-Man before Peter separates the two and takes them to prison. Afterwards, Peter is seen playing cards with Daredevil, Captain America, and the Punisher.[1]
Notes
- Peter is voiced by Rino Romano who previously voiced his Earth-751263 counterpart.
- As a cross-promotion with Neversoft's concurrent other title Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, Spider-Man features a billboard promoting the game. When Spider-Man passes by it, he will recall that he skated with the titular Tony Hawk. This is because, in turn, Spider-Man himself is a playable secret character in the game.
